You can sit in your house all day and on the rare occasion that you do have to go out you can wear a full hazmat. Nobody has to get it if they are prepared to make huge sacrifices.

I agree that a vaccine is unlikely to be the silver bullet, it's for that reason that I think we have no choice but to learn to live with this. If I thought one of these vaccines would be a full cure and was going to be available within the next couple of months I'd be all for lockdowns.
