It isn't exactly sarcasm. Lemme explain since I wasn't clear.
I see a lot of state and local goverment officials who recommend masks, but won't put in an actual mask order. They essentially say "Wear a mask but we can't make you". What they should be saying is "Don't go anywhere that people aren't wearing masks*"
Businesses are afraid to ask or enforce their own mask mandates because they are afraid of losing the business of the anti-maskers. They should be afraid of losing the business of customers who are wearing masks and don't want to get sick.
I agree with all of this.
My environment is anything but peaceful. Every large retailer in Youngstown and surrounding areas have anti-maskers who just walk in all the time. Our sheriff said he wasn't enforcing mask violations.

I went to the hospital for a test today - a man at the hospital would not wear a mask. The resource officer told him to leave. And he shouted obscenities at everyone wearing a mask.
