Regardless of the meaning of these terms, you're still better off living in America than in the UK even if you are dead broke.

Is it normal to not believe in a god and still say God bless America? Because I do.

Bernie Sanders makes money? What a hypocrite. Next thing you know he'll write a book and try to sell it at Barnes and Noble. Someone needs to explain to Bernie what socialism is.
That would be me and fuck Bernie Sanders.

most people in the US hear the word "socialism" and automatically assume it means the exact same as "communism"

Most 'socialists' would absolutely prefer communism but figure they can fly under the radar a little better by saying they just want a little socialism.

Bernie is a typical commie, he's just a little more equal than the others. Also, he lived his ideals by getting kicked out of a hippie commune for being a lazy freeloader, lulz.

Actual communism or just the fake shit we've seen?
There is no such thing as actual communism once you involve more than 20 or so people. If you and 19 other people survive a plane crash and are stranded on a large deserted island with plenty of resources, communism is probably the ideal system to organize yourselves under. But once two of the survivors have a baby and you add that 21st person to the mix, communism will start to fall apart.

Current human nature does not allow for the possibility of actual communism on a wide scale. Certainly not on the national level. The people drawn to power and other psychopaths will always subvert it and turn it into what the Soviets had. Maybe someday we'll get to some kind of society like in Star Trek, but it's going to take a hell of a lot longer than a couple hundred years.

But in the meantime, we can at least aim for basic safety nets like free healthcare.

In the interests of expediency, I will now add my own joe8 emoji to this post. 🐨
