Messmer is bullshit.

Somehow i-frames are not a thing for the player. None. Zero. But his attack where he grabs your mimic or the summon absolutely untouchable for 30 minutes.

Bullshit.

Beat Lords of the Fallen with my buddy.

It has some neat replay features where you can choose to do a run with certain modifiers including a randomizer, so props to that. Even has a mod where you can restore the original enemy density (lol), even some quasi perma death modes. Neat, I can see people who really enjoy the game liking that. NG+0 is a nice option to get all the achievements, though makes me wonder then what the point of NG+1, etc are other than the challenge? Maybe be nice if they dropped exclusive items.

It’s definitely the best co-op Souls like (I’m not counting Remnant or Wo Long.)

Overall I’d give it a 7.5-8 as I played it in co-op. No clue how it is as a solo affair but I’m thinking some of those bosses are real bitches. From has better bosses (haven’t played Erd yet tho.)

Honestly I’m kind of waiting for the third Remnant 2 dlc to release as me and the same friend were waiting for all three to come out before we played the game again.

It comes back.

Commander Gaius was less of a pain than this thing.

Got Messmer this eve. Didnt know I would need to go and fight that pink millipede/butterfly/beetle lady afterward to do the sealing tree thing. I had happened to find her earlier and killed her before Messmer. I cant for the life of me find my way to the northwest part of the map. I can see the map icon there but no matter where I've gone, I cant get to it. And Ive even unlocked a few graces up in that region.

I think I screwed up a questline tho, with that poison guy Thollier. I think it ended up the same, but I evidently skipped several steps :/

I skipped past the concoction part of his questline but was able to conclude the questline with the npc after the big cave fight and have him available to summon for the last two fights.

I also missed all of the cookbooks Moore gives you for healing the rot pests. Never provoked an invasion by killing them either. I never even put together that those were the "forager brood" that got mentioned.

I made the same mistake with Moore as you. Got all the other cookbooks but not the Forager Brood. I think I accidentally killed one of them, thinking they were a monster. The DLC doesn't lend itself to intuiting that there are mobs you can approach and talk to that aren't near a site of grace. And with the damage enemies were laying on me, I didn't take any chances. Unfortunate, but I beat the DLC (except for the dragons, which I skipped but can still go back to if I want), so did I really need the cookbooks except for vanity's sake?

Moore wasn't happy about it.

Can anyone confirm if there's anything truly useful in the Abyssal Woods? I already got the talisman by killing one of those Winter Lantern analogues. But I can't be arsed to fuck with them if all thats there is like a scadutree fragment or a talisman that will negate .0000000000000000000000000001% cold damage.

A boss with a sweet fuckin' cinematic.

(There are maybe six untouchables in the whole woods, though. The rest of it is rats, mad hornsent, and an invader. Also a chunk of the overworld map.)

OK so. I dunno man, I might be at my limit here.

I got to that castle in the sky, I cant remember its name. Imu Borgir or something. Ive had less issues with the fucked up bosses in this game than those stupid lion knights that are scattered about the area - and respawn upon death.

Tried several times to kill the flower boss, it just gets fucking cheap as shit. I got to Bayal, (Bayle?) and I can see that being annoying but not impossible. Though people have called it the most cheap boss in the game. No idea.

Is the Dimmu Borgir castle part of the story progression? Because if not, fuck it I'm just gonna go elsewhere.

Zero things in the base game are bullshit. Zero.

But this DLC is full of a lot of it. Its just not fun anymore.

You are where I was.

Maybe it was Gentlegamer, I think, that said 'this was a parody of Elden Ring.' It's okay to call this DLC unbalanced horseshit.

You get punished for NG+ by it. It's kind of ass.

But I'm glad I'm done with it.

Abyssal Woods is worth going through. You can parry their swing with a shield and then punish them on the stun. They drop good items and once they're dead, they're dead forever. One of them drops a very useful item for certain builds.

And the legacy dungeon is pretty cool. Found it very late in the game while I was gathering for the Perfumer build, which didn't do shit to the last boss.

LMSH posted some vids on crushing Messmer and the lasts boss. There is a very good strat in there but I'm over it.

Dimmu Borgir is where the final boss Borgir Master lives.

Dimmu Borgir?

Is he talking about Enir Ilim?

Found Midra Lord of the Frenzied Flame and it might be one of my favorite Souls boss designs to date.

Only had time for a few rounds at him, so I can't comment on the fight itself.
