Shuuuuuut the fuck uuuuuup.

lol it's gonna be ok StickmanLoser, but honestly this one isn't the support you want it to be. Blasts lower ATC standards =! caused plane to crash. The Fox ones are but they're the same as CNN and NBC anyway.

But there could be contributing factors.

I missed it because it was in the questions part and not the statement. But the good news is I helped you get further than the headline.

Maybe we should just go back to a president that doesn't talk to the press.

Look, I'm not saying the Asian lady is a poor driver, but she did crash into me and she is Asian. Just an observation, nothing more.

Just in case you're serious...tip-toeing around and couching an accusation doesn't mean you're not making the accusation. Your typical train of thought is, "Well he didn't literally explicitly BLAME anyone so this is all liberal derangement. Poor Twumpy-wumps 🥺."

Oh I gotcha, fair enough. And I was being serious, didn't quite understand the point.

Which would mean I'm safe enough to disregard the lefties who told me the LA wildfires were all because of anthropogenic climate change (which is also Trump's fault of course).

So while I guess I still find issue with 'blame' because that means a direct cause, I agree that he certainly lumped it in with a few other things and ultimately said a few times "it's all under investigation". That's honestly enough for me at this point.

He's using this as an opportunity to highlight his policy reforms at agencies like the FAA, uncouth, maybe a little, but he was available and answering questions. And DEI stuff is on its way out with strong public support. So I don't see much political hay being made out of this.

Strong public support? Ehh, not quite. trump doesn’t have the mandate he thinks he has.

Split down the middle like the last election.

The country truly is polarized (and has been) when we have folks winning by a few percentage points, instead of landslides.

Good luck suing the feds.

I was more thinking along the lines of the military simply not cooperating in the investigation, thus leading to no conclusive answer as to why the accident occurred.

As for the unlawful use of deadly force by agents of the state? My answer remains as always #shootback.

Saw the video, which is grainy and from far away, but I don't see anyone surviving that crash. Helicopter went straight into it, big ball of fire, hard to see pieces crashing into the Potomac.

At the least worst, everyone in the middle section of the plane is toast and maybe the front and rear sections were intact enough to remain that way upon impact with the river for people to unbuckle and swim out of it, but then you have to factor in the frigid winter water of the river. It's really not looking good.

At best, single number survivors, if any. :(

Some people did survive.

I find the lack of details the telling part. We aren't getting the real story for some reason.

According to CNN, they've changed from Rescue to Recovery mode. No survivors.

I saw that briefly last night too. Unsure if it was just misreported or if they did transport a few with signs of life.

"Elevating competence over everything else instead of the DEI policies that were pursued by the Biden administration.

DJT: I think everyone understands that."

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION
THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION

SUBJECT: Immediate Assessment of Aviation Safety

On January 29, 2025, a commercial aircraft and a military helicopter horrifically collided near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. American families today woke up without their loved ones after what should have been a routine trip, and the entire Nation mourns the loss of the victims.

This shocking event follows problematic and likely illegal decisions during the Obama and Biden Administrations that minimized merit and competence in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Obama Administration implemented a biographical questionnaire at the FAA to shift the hiring focus away from objective aptitude. During my first term, my Administration raised standards to achieve the highest standards of safety and excellence. But the Biden Administration egregiously rejected merit-based hiring, requiring all executive departments and agencies to implement dangerous “diversity equity and inclusion” tactics, and specifically recruiting individuals with “severe intellectual” disabilities in the FAA.

On my second day in office, I ordered an immediate return to merit-based recruitment, hiring, and promotion, elevating safety and ability as the paramount standard. Yesterday’s devastating accident tragically underscores the need to elevate safety and competence as the priority of the FAA.

Consistent with the Presidential Memorandum of January 21, 2025 (Keeping Americans Safe in Aviation), I am further ordering the Secretary of Transportation (Secretary) and the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (Administrator) to review all hiring decisions and changes to safety protocols made during the prior 4 years, and to take such corrective action as necessary to achieve uncompromised aviation safety, including the replacement of any individuals who do not meet qualification standards. This review shall include a systematic assessment of any deterioration in hiring standards and aviation safety standards and protocols during the Biden Administration.

Consistent with the Presidential Memorandum of January 21, 2025, the Secretary and the Administrator shall take all actions necessary to reverse concerning safety and personnel trends during the prior 4 years, instill an unwavering commitment to aviation safety, and ensure that all Americans fly with peace of mind.

It appears to have been a woman helicopter pilot. We all know how they handle two dimensional vehicle control. Adding up and down to that and letting them near populated areas seems like an inherently bad idea.

Well I think we know why they didn't want to disclose details right away. However, with all this finger pointing, I dont even know what's true anymore.

You have a 4-6% chance of having a female pilot each time you board a commercial flight. Do you like your odds? Actually it's double because there's at least a Captain and a First Officer.

Don't tell him the other things women can do or he'll have a stroke and have to have said stroke operated on by a female surgeon.
