It did much better than The Acolyte.

1st day viewership for recent Disney Plus shows
Agatha All Along - 9.3 million
Daredevil: Born Again - 7.5 million
The Acolyte - 4.8 million

I finished Mando season 3 and instead of watching clone wars I started Agatha All Along.

Just kidding, I watched Loki season 2 first :emb: :keke:

I really enjoyed Loki seasons 1 and 2.

Enjoying Born Again as well, but - while I know we're only 4 episodes in so far, and I get that Matt is having an internal struggle as to whether or not to put on the suit again - it'd be nice to have a little more Daredevil, and less courtroom drama in the show. Also I have a feeling they are going to de-comic Muse and just make him a lame killer instead of having any powers that can actually fake out DD.

Forget all that other bullshit and watch X-Men 97 first.

Then circle back to the Star Wars animated stuff.

+1 recommendation for The Gentleman TV series on Netflix. First 2-3 episodes are OK and then it gets really good.

The new Hulu show, Paradise, has got to be the best show I have watched in many years. About to watch the finale tonight so it better stick the landing.

What are the numbers in total as it stands right now? I don't want the new Daredevil show to be a flop.

Season two is already filmed so there's no need to worry.

Originally this show was going to be 1 long season and mostly a lighthearted courtroom procedural with vague references but no real connections to the Netflix show. Foggy and Karen would've both died offscreen. Bernthal (Punisher) refused to be involved and after the writers' strike shut down production, Cox and D'Onofrio went to the producers and convinced them that what they filmed sucked. So they shut it down, hired new writers, brought Bernthal back, and made explicit connections to the old show. Then they split the planned 18 episode season into two shorter ones and finished the rest of it, then taped everything together.

So if sometimes you feel like you're watching two different shows, you actually are. It's why some of the color grading is so different from one scene to the next.

A comedy Daredevil sounds awful. Probably based on Mark Waid's shit run.

I think the courtroom stuff has been great.
It has, yes, wont argue that.

But if I go see a Batman movie, I wanna see Batman instead of Bruce Wayne most of the time. Though that said - Batman Begins was still enjoyable even though "Batman" was only in it for a short amount of screen time.

DD isn't my favorite favorite comic character, but my dad was a big fan and so was my childhood best friend so hes got a spot in my heart because of them. But yeah, I wanna see more of DD kickin' ass in there rather than just Matt having internal struggles and getting people 10 days of jailtime instead of 30.

I hated that scene. Dude was all bitching and moaning about how he missed his SSI appointment because he was arrested.

I mean... you only got yourself to blame, jackass. You got arrested for stupid shit and went to jail. Maybe dont steal that fiddlefaddle, ya dingus.

Miller's runs on Daredevil have all been fantastic. Born Again may be the finest six issues of any comic book I've ever read. Even Year One was pretty great. And I don't think I need to praise his original run with full creative any further.

Man, to be a kid reading comics when Miller really tapped into that seedy New York adventure drama.

That said, it's not ernough to make Daredevil anywhere close to my favorite superhero. But he has had some of the best runs in comics history.

I actually thought that scene and character was great.

The core of Daredevil’s struggle in this show, so far, has to do with questions of fairness and justice.

I mean was the guy wrong?

I don’t think so.

That’s not to say he wasn’t guilty, but don’t kick a man while he is down.

So since this is Disney, have they done away with his Irish Catholic roots?

Don’t think so, there is church symbolism and this last episode deals directly with his crippling guilt.

Honestly the whole way through that scene all I could think of was this:

My wife and I, being kinda bored (shitty weather outside) and looking for something to watch at night, decided to watch Vice Principals...it's no Righteous Gemstones, but it's decent.

On a total lark, I watched the first episode of the 70s era Land of the Lost. Amazon was offering the first ep fof free.

This would not pass the fagit muster for today's kids' fare. For all of its cheesy production values and schlock, especially in the acting department, it's setting up a long arc and is way more sophisticated than I remember. I'd probably watch it all but I'm not going to drop 20 bucks per season to do so. Still, it's a marked contrast in what kids consumed back then versus what they are peddled now. Studios today would probably say 'this is more complicated than it needs to be, just put some dinos in there and don't make it scary.' How did 6 year old me survive this show? Grumpy the tyrranosaur (named by the kids, obviously) would be absolutely horrific to have to deal with.

The Sleestacks (sp?) gave me nightmares as a kid of 3 or 4, when Land of the Lost was my favorite show. I was fascinated with the pylons and that board of crystals and dimensional travel. And of course the dinosaurs. "Chaka" was a go-to insult of my generation for any kid who was super hairy or had a low forehead.

Following up to my previous post, Paradise did stick the landing and has been greenlit for a season 2. I like that the ending closes the overall murder mystery plot yet opens up another road for the protagonist. Few shows have ever pulled this off successfully and it is well worth your time.

Common Side Effects is really good.

Shares many creatives and animators from the one-season HBO series (I think it's on Netflix now) Scavenger's Reign, so go check that one out if you didn't catch it.

I was bummed about Scavenger's Reign only getting one season, but the crew moving onto Common Side Effects takes the sting out.

Ya Born Again is one of my favorite comic series of all time, I always thought that's where they should have started anything about him out from.

Pretty sure I still have the comics, are they worth anything now?
Just looked... nope.

The White Lotus. Hmm. I like how Chelsea is 100% on board with not judging one brother jerking off his other brother while he fucks her best friend a few beds over. Greg kills them all at the dinner party? Lot of (LOT OF) folks have guns or sex with relatives this season.

Gemstones okay but gotta pick it up a bit IMO.
