Anyone collect board games? Just babbling about them.

Too lazy to bump the 40k thread but can anyone tell me the difference between Star Wars Legion and Star Wars Shatterpoint?

Is it merely the size of the battles? (Ie how many figures you field.) Shatterpoint more hero based while legion is generic troops?

Are the miniatures the same physical scale?

I just want a damn Mando and Grogu miniature lol.

Legion is like 40k army battles; Shatterpoint is Kill Team.
The models are meant to be similar scale, but Shatterpoint is generally closer to GW scale. Slightly oversized.

So Legion and Shatterpoint would look off next to each other?

I'll have to post pics of my recent shipments.

Both The Witcher: Path of Destiny and Adventures of Conan dice game came this past Saturday. Been too busy to share.

I think my complete collection of The Savage Sword of Solomon Kane RPG books is coming today, too. There may be some doubles in there, since there was a lot of material I never got when it was initially released. If that is true and anyone wants, I'll shre and be happy to send them along. Stay tuned.

This looks cool, im interested

you got it - I wish the OG would've been funded. I still get emails about it, but I have zero interest/energy in revisiting it. I would rather make something new, cheaper, etc. Keep u posted.

The big board version is fun though. I got trashed many a times playing it. Still have my prototype and stretch goal minis I was gonna offer.

I still have to take pictures of those Witcher and Conan games but I'll share this. Came yesterday. Ignore the unfinished aspects of the game room. That shelf will eventually go into the middle of the three and will be relaoded with game books. That's about 40 years of acquisitions. It's still a WIP. Elden Ring Boardgame All In Bundle.jpg

I have such a boner for these massive Kickstarter games like this. Problem is, no friends to play with. I tried meeting peeps at a local game shop and they are all booger eaters. My wife could not be less interested.

I would never let strangers handle any of my game materials. Especially not KS exclusive stuff.

Over the years, I've met enough people that I can pull a group together to play a game with semi regular frequency if I want to. Obviously, my availability was restricted while my wife was fighting cancer but my gaming bros are still out there and ready to go whenever we can put together a session.

It's a $3000 gaming table with a removable dining top. Wanted one for years and years and then a couple of years ago I made that dream come true like Pedro.

It's the centerpiece of the entire redesign of the front room into a gaming space. Love that table.

The chairs are ass. Bought from Amazon because the designer chairs would cost another two grand to get 6 of them. That will come eventually.

We actually need to get new chairs for our table since my aging back does not like sitting on them for extended periods.

Actually have to make that a priority since I've been board gaming more often.

My best friend since high school brings his 16 year old son to play games with us.

One day he was like 'can we play some competitive games? all we play are co-op.'

We now call him little faggit. My friend from St. Louis already has the name big faggit.

Am I the only one who likes traditional (board) wargames?

Stuff like from GMT, Avalanche Press, old Avalon Hill, Compass Games, etc?

Once I played a game where I could move giant mechs around a hex map, I never really looked back at Avalon Hill type historical stuff. Too many cardboard chits.

I barely play Battletech anymore but I'm firmly ensconced in the fantastic as far as board gaming goes.

Finished Scenario 3 in JotL and this game might be a master class in how to teach a game.

Granted, I've played a ton of games and know a lot about them, but I could easily see a total beginner getting the hang of this game no problem.

Is the American board game industry actually as fucked as it seems right now do to the tariff situation?
