Will we ever see a Samurai Shodown RPG release for the AES/MVS?

I'm just wondering whether we can expect an AES/MVS port of Samurai Shodown RPG now that the english rom is out there? I know we've seen it done with Crossed Swords 2. Any thoughts? Do we know if any one is working on it? I've been half expecting to see it pop up on aliexpress.

It can be played already on a NeoSD Pro, so i hope it will come as a rom cart at some point. I think its just matter of time, but afaik nobody has publicly showed any initiative to port it.

Yeah, we definitely need to convert it to MVS/AES so a guy in france can make overpriced repros, also to have one more game in the cart library no one plays

Just emulate or NeoSD it.

No. Lay off the 420.

We'll never even see an English translation.

Aren’t CD exclusives like Crossed Swords 2 and Zintrick only playable in ROM form with sound effects, no music? The reason Ironclad has music is because an MVS ROM set was extracted from the Wii virtual console release.

Crossed Swords 2 uses the Z80 and sound roms from the first game so it has the same music/sfx IIRC

This is an old video but where I thought CW2 still was on MVS.

Can the version with music you speak of be a conversion using original SNK boards or do you need to use Neo SD Pro with NG CD support? I found a video from just a few years ago touting the MVS version with CD audio.

Oh yeah, now I remember. There was the first conversion that adapted the game to use Crossed1's sound driver (so it has the same bgm tracks and sound effects), and then there was another conversion with the CD music properly brought over (your second video). I don't know if that second conversion has public ROMs though. Both conversions are regular MVS "carts"/roms

Yeah, this is the elrayzeur version. It's a sound hack for Razoola's CD-to-cart coversion. I have a cart of this. It's okay but it's not perfect. Pretty poor music samples from the CD, some questionable loop choices, and all the stereo from the sfx are missing.

In my opinion we still need the original cartridge rom from ADK.

how much would it cost for me to pay someone to port DBZ buu yuu retsuden from genesis to AES/MVS? I'm seeing these genesis to neo geo ports starting to happen.

I played it on neo geo controllers through a USB adaptor on my computer and it felt amazing.

I also recommend playing GTA Advance on your super nintendo through a GBA cartridge adaptor.

fuk all y'all. I'm going to port DBZ to AES and I'm going to get Le Cortex to publish that shit. Then I'm going to send you all a picture of me covered in old, dirty french francs to let you know that I have completely sold out to the bootleg scene.

Now that i think about it, it was odd that Ironclad (originally a Neo Geo CD release) was re-released for the Wii via Virtual Console but they didn't do the same for Crossed Swords II :/

I have been mentioning it on SNK's Twitter and some of the ACA posts, but I assume the rom version is currently lost, unfortunately. I'll keep asking and hoping though. The unused music data on the CD version is so tantalizing.

Unused music data... wait, the AES/MVS tracks are on the CD version?

Yes, the Z80 code still has a bunch of the data for the music in it (maybe all or close to all). I've even messed around with it and verified that it is indeed some of the same tunes from the CD. The problem is all of the V roms (samples) aren't included on the CD. So basically we have the sheet music, but missing most of the instruments to play it.

I would love it if someone with a lot of expertise reprogammed the game to use samples from World Heroes Perfect or something to get a hack that at least tries to approach a version of the original.

That's usually how it is, no? the music table is either swapped with or appended with tracks that are mere CD player commands
