It seems like an awesome game so far. One thing to be careful about, if you're in MVS mode on Unibios, make sure you give yourself at least one credit with the select button before you start playing. I was playing with 0 credits, made it a ways in the game, hit select, and it reset me to the start menu. Doesn't seem to be a problem in AES mode.

Are you on an AES in MVS mode? We are looking into some funky credit issues right now.

I also regret flipping the boards in the cart, but not too much...thankfully it worked out, but after the fact I couldn't help but think "why did I even do that?". It made sense for the NeoSD Pro, but not so much for a collectible cart.

That said, I finally got to try my Furtek converter. I didn't notice any glitches with the converter and the VH MVS cart, but I didn't play it all that long...more of just a quick test while testing out other things on the newly acquired AES system. The AES I picked up has a 3-5 board revision, if that matters. I can try playing longer with the converter if there's something specific I should look out for.

Also, on a tangent, I could not bring up the NeoSD (non-Pro) MVS menu with the Furtek converter. There was some garbled graphics on the screen for a second or two, with a revision number, and then it booted straight into Windjammers. A+D+Start would just take me right back to the garbled screen for a second or two, then it would boot right back into Windjammers. I did not try my NeoSD Pro with the converter because the pin fit on the converter is so tight it kind of scares me. I know Furtek isn't guaranteed to work with these multicarts, but thought I'd mention it in case other folks have a different experience.

Try playing it longer. It will boot and run just fine, but try at least playing through the first stage.

This was pretty darn cool. I wish I had gotten to go myself to demo the game, but I couldn't make the event. It ended up being setup on a PVM with only one controller and no sticker on the cart (we didn't have them yet). But luckily a really nice person from the Discord brought a second controller the next day and it apparently made some impact!

What sucks is I sent them my personal copy of the game as we didn't have any extras that could get there in time. When they went to ship me the trophy we won, the game went missing and they couldn't find it anywhere. They were totally awesome and apologized profusely and they did have me invoice them for the cost, but I now do not have my copy to go in the 2slot MVS cabinet I bought this week :(

That's amazing! Well deserved. It plays great too!

That sucks. You need to get the game again now? Don't you just get unlimited copies? Great cab! How'd you end up getting it?

Well, the issue is that we sold out of copies of the game and coming up with an extra MVS copy requires us to take some out of the limited back stock we want to have around in case of issues where a replacement is needed for a customer. Producing a new batch would require quite a bit of time and a huge amount of risky cost, so I definitely don't have access to unlimited copies of the Neo Geo game. I can have all the digital copies I want though!!! I am being sent an extra copy to replace mine, but if it ends up being needed by somebody I'd forward it on. I am mostly whining because I wanted a copy to put in my new cab and using a dev flash cart isn't the same feeling :)

I'd been looking for a cabinet in good condition for years now. The price has balooned up and the cabinets, at least in my area, are way more scarce these days. My wife just happened to be looking on FB Market and a collector who was only 12 minutes away from us listed his cab for sale that was in amazing condition and only $800 (cheap for 2025 here). Somehow he chose us (he got a ton of messages apparently) and we picked it up that night. He is an awesome guy and he showed us his basement that was decked out in a ton of original cabs that him and his son had collected together over the years. He preferred a lot of the older stuff for his cabs (Galaga, Donkey Kong etc) and played newer stuff on his TV. Which was why he was getting rid of the Neo Geo cab.

Nah man, just listen to the community. "Sold out? Why can't they make one more? I want this! They are greedy!"

Haha, so true. I mean, I get it. People who don't know much about what it takes to produce a physical copy of even a modern game would definitely have zero idea on how to produce something as crazy complicated as a Neo Geo game...never mind the costs for such low run counts.. But some people truly miss the mark by a LOT on their comprehension of these things and just assume everyone is a high volume producer and selling on Amazon.

Oh wow, that sucks! Super sick deal on this cab though. $800 is great for anytime in the last 2 decades really.

Some of you might care, so I'll re-post this here:

My team at Nalua Studio has just set Vengeance Hunters live on Kickstarter. I'd really appreciate positive signal boosts any of you could give us! Twitter, Bsky, Discord, IG, Facebook...anywhere. Thank you!

Good deal! I hope it gets funded and physical copies for modern platforms bring more players to the game, since it's fantastic.
