I’ve bought a famicom mini instead, they are at a reasonable price on play-asia while stocks last: http://www.play-asia.com/nintendo-classic-mini-famicom/13/70akhb

I’ve had a look and you can easily mod these to add an english menu and roms if you wish.

although I do like the fact that you get 2 controllers out the box. But the mini-controllers are holding me back.
I might just jump on board considering it is nintendo and still a pretty unique piece.

I spent weeks developing my raspberry pi. but the controller input lag makes playing snes titles like mario & f-zero unplayable. i've played the nes classic, there is no input lag.
that being said the pi was a fun project & I did manage to complete my dual boot kodi 17/batocera which I am loving.

You need two if you want both ports wireless.

You can also buy wireless Famicom/Nes style controllers from 8Bitdo. I guess that would be the ultimate setup since it would overcome the short cord problem as well.
