If you are in Japanese mode, the first 3 option are Survival, VS CPU, and Adventure. The next 3 options are Easy, Medium & Hard. Please no easy scores.

I just played the cpu mode and only got 1500 for a score. Man I'm terrible at puzzle games, I'll give it a good try this month though.

I’m not sure if cpu mode can be spammed for score, if not we can do a table for it too.

Way back in the day I used to be able to get to 18-20 on survival but I haven’t played it hardcore like that in years.

Nice surprise this month! In Challenge Mode, the choice of the character is decisive. Using secret charas should be excluded from the competition.

I'm not sure what's going on, but my score table is acting wonky now, it doesn't do an attract mode and only shows I guess the timed score? So I gotta snap a pic right after I end a run. I'm going to continue using JP mode.

You have to wait awhile for the score board to show up. Sometimes two tile screen run throughs.

Do the personalities do anything? I played the fool because it was the first one there.

I'm not 100%, but I am pretty sure they have different [starting] patterns in the puzzle. Similar to how they affect your opponent in vs, but instead you're picking your own fate.

I like me some MDIII. I tried this last night - and man, I can't break 37k either. As soon as it gets to level 8 the drop speed and bubbles start to kick my ass.

Also - I tried 'easy' mode and now have an 11k score at #1 -- where do you get that full-screen score display? I'll switch to Japanese and give that a shot later. Cycling through the attract mode shows the computer doing some scary-fast combo's (or 'reactions').

Was the board on us or eur? Looks like my scores from EUR carried over on to the jp setting on the unibios and look massive (100k plus) next to the jp scores.
