They both arrived yesterday, but, I ordered this one after the NES Gameboy. This is a "more serious" robust unit. Supports multiple emulators, including the all-important NeoGeo. I'm not crazy about the PlayStation style d-pad, but, otherwise it's a pretty impressive $30 machine! Tons of games already on it, and you can add more too.

I'm not sure exactly how much internal memory is available for games, couldn't find that in any of the menus, might have to connect it to my laptop to check. The back of the unit does have 8 GB printed on it though. The back of the box says that it supports TF cards to a maximum of 64G, the manual says 32G. The manual says that some of the preloaded games can't be deleted too.

So...this supposedly has Playstation emulator support, but only 2 shoulder buttons, instead of 4, and 4 face buttons...da fuck? 🤣

Exactly 29, I checked the language menu. Unless there's a way to add more, they're exaggerating about more than 29.

Hmm. Maybe 3 sausages out of 5. Instructions are BS and storage space is optimistic. But it is still Neo Geo on the go for $30.

All righty, I hooked it up to my laptop, a little over 5 GB system memory, most of it free space:

I downloaded 2 MAME ROMs as ZIP files, and the system said both were invalid and wouldn't play either. Bad dumps or maybe I didn't do something right, I dunno.

You either don't have the right BIOS ROMs (or whatever you want to call them idk) for the ROMs you want to play, or you didn't download the parent ROMs and only downloaded a revision child ROM or w/e

Or, also, the $30 aliexpress handheld you bought is broken and doesnt work

He says PS1 games run pretty shitty on it, which doesn't surprise me, and some ROMs just don't work. Even if I can't get any new additions to boot, it still has tons of games already on it anyway. I did notice that Samurai Shodown IV says invalid and won't run, and that ROM comes already installed on it, but, every other preinstalled game I tried so far did work.

I dicked around with this some more today. I added some new NES, SNES, and GBA ROMs, and those booted and worked fine, only MAME zip files aren't cooperating for some reason. I still need to try some GB/GBC, MD, and PS ones.

The control pad and analog sticks aren't that great, especially for fighters and shooters. I don't know if there's any kind of support for accessing the arcade dip switches in MAME either.

It's okay for the price and what it is, but, not sure that I'd recommend it now.

Couldn't get Genesis ROMs to work either (the .MD files don't even show up in the directory folder after I add them, unlike the MAME ones that don't work). GB & GBC ROMs work great though. I think the manufacture exaggerated a wee bit about what this thing can really do. 🤣

Don't some Genesis ROMs have the .GEN file type instead of .MD? Maybe those would boot...

Why the fuck did you buy this thing you fucking retard.

There's a whole thread with like tons of feedback and info regarding handheld gaming devices that are just like this. Including weird ali-express scoops, some of which are actually decent for their price point, but here you are again buying literal garbage even though you had the opportunity to choose a decent one and watch the above vid before buying this one.

Brain damage seems to be spreading rapidly

Nope, I haven't put any videos, photos, or music on it, just ROMs. There's no internet browser or bluetooth connectivity either, you have to transfer anything you want on there via a USB cable from a PC.

Heiankyo Alien, one of my favorite GB games of all time (I've still got the cartridge...somewhere) wouldn't boot, but every other Gameboy game I tried did. No Super Gameboy support, those games just run in the default GB color scheme.

Imagine if you had just spent an extra $30 or something on ONE handheld that had some semblance of a review or support , and actually loaded simple ROM files reliably ? Stupid fuck

All right, I'll give that a shot, thanks. I suspect that the designers mostly wanted it to play Nintendo stuff.

Man this is literally a clone PS Vita that was recolored to make it look like a Switch. This is a sad buy even for M standards
