I'm assuming we want arcade mode when playing on a 360 (not 360 mode)?

So who voted for this? Or did you just pulled it out of your ass?

Good game though, I should give a shot although I'm still green on the second awakening, would someone please help a noob out with some in detail instructions on the game? Think of me as the dumbest fuck you've ever tried to explain the system, this way everyone can understand it and maybe even participate, specially now that's in MAME.

You know, I thought the same thing when I voted. Kinda figured this is the ball buster choice so nobody else would vote for it. Buncha masochists here.

In a few sentences: 4 buttons are shot, slowdown, rapid shot, and bomb. Shoot stuff to gather gems. Tap (and release) the slowdown button to get gold instead of gems. When you have a bunch of both gems and gold, hold the slowdown button and go WTF WHY DID I DO THAT :lolz:.

So the second awakening takes all your gems and gold away? What's the purpose for it? I would like some intricate details if possible, I'll try to look around and see if I can find some conclusive and concrete info. I have the PCB and I make it to stage 4 or 5? It's been a while now but I've yet to understand the system, I'm simply just playing to survive which is ok but I'd like to understand it better.

1. Get emeralds
2. Spend emeralds and get gold
3. Get more emeralds
4. Spends gold and emeralds to make bullets and score like crazy

One thing that might help is to drain all your emeralds and while the bullets are RED, let all the rings form around your character (this'll happen more quickly when you don't shoot). This is your 'over-mode' leveling up. What it does is make enemies drop more emeralds when you kill them. Unlike the first galuda, in this one once you've leveled it up it stays at that level even after a death.

Played 360, Arcade (on 360), and PCB - no discernible differences i'm seeing.

Topping out around 10 mil after a couple runs on each - nowhere near where I should be. Activating my mode at the wrong places - but it's starting to come back to me.

EG if you want to see the benefits of scoring in overdrive - play the first boss entirely in overdrive (red bullets). That will get you an extra million or so and that one is pretty easy. You can overdrive the first 3 midbosses too but I can't do stage bosses other than the first.

Fairly certain it's been settled several times that the scoring is the same in 360 vs arcade, only difference is nicer graphics in 360 mode.

Time to change the net city over from JAMMA to 360 :)

I'll try it out, thanks for the advice, mj!

You are far better off finishing off the boss in Zetsushikai-Kakusei and getting the GIANT multiplier with the screen full of bullets. You have to spend gems and gold to activate Zetsu, so you wouldn't want to be in overdrive.

Yeah - we get that. Played "right" you can score over a billion points in this game. Most of us will score between 10-30 million. I think showing an easy way to get an extra million here or there has value.

With all due respect, it's a bad strat for both score and survival. The only reason why you'd want to spend a significant part of the boss fight in overdrive is to max out your over-level. Using Kakusei the multiplier from each bullet goes up to something like X100, but with Zetsu if goes far beyond to X500 or something crazy (I might be off on those numbers, it's been a while!). Time it right (which isn't hard at all) and you will get a huge score from finishing off bosses.

I think i've only played 1 or 2 credits in Espgaluda II a long time ago. Are the mechanics much different from the first Espgaluda?

I will only give it a go tomorrow...

You can play it like the original if you want. If you want the mega scores though you'll have to learn a new mechanic; read the guide and watch some videos to see it action (I found videos far more helpful in figuring out how to use it correctly).

... and after watching arcade videos on Youtube, is it just me or does the 360 version not make the sound effect when going into Zetsu?

Put in a couple runs today - scoring a little better, up around 13.5 mil now, but 3rd boss is a wall right now.
