I used to love playing Life Force when I was a kid, but never played Salamander on the FC. Decided to pick up a cheap copy of the game for this SOTM.

Thanks, homey. I'm doing my best. Goal is to 1cc all 3 versions this month. Within this series, I've previously 1cc'ed Gradius (PCE) and Gradius II (FC).

Almost achieved a 1LC on the first loop, but unfortunately died once in the escape tunnel at the end of the game. The third to last door, the one that closes all the way, tends to get me every time.

One down, two to go. I think I'm done with the FC version. I blew like 8 guys on the exit after the last boss. Ended up with 1 life at the end. After that, fatigue set in.

Yeah, I've cleared the NES version dozens of times but I've never made it through the end without dying once. Thankfully recovery is doable on the first stage.

I'll give the Fami version a couple tries on the everdrive and see how it goes. I see the arcade version is on PS4 now as well, and I don't need much of an excuse to pick that up haha.

Doesn't matter, Sat/psx is an emulated version of the pcb. Although with much more options- wait time, ect.

Fuck this game. I went back and played the pcb and fc cart. Now I know why I sold it.

I'm starting to understand this now. It's fucking aggravating how large your hit box is and how cheap the deaths can be.
