I might pull the trigger on this in the next few days. I managed to get a model 2 saturn where the cd drive is dead so that will be my saroo saturn

Also, does anyone have a link to the ones they bought? I see many on aliexpress with green and supposedly "new" blue boards since I don't want a bunk one even though this is open source.
This is the one I bought:

I got an "elite" one just to get the new chips. I don't know what the differnces between the different vendors are, but I just waited until there was a sale and bought one.

I wanted to verify mine was working before I replied. But, I can boot and play Policenauts english v1.01. I don't know if I could play through the whole thing, but it appears to be working okay.

Remember that the SAROO doesn't play ISOs. So, if you downloaded the same version of Policenauts that I did, you'll need to convet the ISO to BIN/CUE for it to work.
Yes, I'm aware of the ISO's not being compatible. The two I've tried were bin/cue files, but it's good to hear that you've found a rom that works. I'll have to seek that one out. Appreciate the info. (y)

Do these types of things work with multi-disc games?

Every multi-disc game I've played so far allows you to save before you switch discs. So, you just reset and start the appropriate disc and load your save.

All the ODEs (i.e. Fenrir) also work the same way. I thought I had read that all games allow you to save before swaping discs. So, as far as I know, all multi-disc games would work.

I never bought one. I don't know which to buy. I think I'll pass for right now until the kinks are ironed out.

Mine arrived Thursday, an Elite and 0.6v just dropped. Of course 0.6v looks different than the only tutorial on YouTube (many review vids). So it'll be a bit of trying this and that.

edit it's working.

Other than the cart slot cover needing a clean up it looks good. Once the novelty wears off, the price should come down. It doesn't feel cheap or that it's fragile.

I'm thinking about a fram mod, Hi Saturn splash screen and recapping it. Right now it's "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

In case goob boy reads this...yes I goobed out.

I wanted to do an FRAM mod on mine, but I found out that it doesn't increase the capacity, so its still that piddly amount of save space. Im better off just saving my games to a Action Replay regardless.

Thats a cool 3D printed case. Did you print it or did you buy it?

I'm excited for the Saroo - but I'm still going to wait just a bit longer to grab one to iron out a few more bugs and compatibility issues. Keenly watching this project, though. Thankfully, my OG Saturn from the 90's is still going strong.

Retro RGB has some good info on what/where to buy. That said, it can be daunting looking at Alixpress. I have heard that you want a "new" board set and not a refurbished board set. 0.7 just got released, so I would imagine you can update the firmware of whatever you purchase.
