Ok, time to knock that noob with the best scores (@Yohanov, come at me bro) off his pedestal.

Japan -19 featuring a HIO on Hole 3. I have a recording of the full round, if I don't improve this score in a week I'll put the video up. I made a few mistakes, should be able to do -22 fairly easily with some practice.

-21, only 1 Par, featuring an Albatross on Hole 5. I could possibly gain another stroke, but I'm going to move on to the other courses first.

-18, straight birdies on U.S.A., absolutely nothing exciting. Eagle is reasonably possible on 11, chip ins and HIOs are possible, but otherwise it is a tough course to find another stroke or two.

-21 on Germany, two pars, one a botched drive on 14 and a missed putt on 15, but a couple chip-ins on 6 and 12 along with a few of the on-in-two Eagles available on 4, 7, and 10. Like Japan, I could probably eke out another stroke or three on this course with enough time and practice, but this is a pretty nice round.

Improved my Germany PB by a stroke, -22. This round features 2 HIOs on 3 and 14. I missed the fairway and my chance at Eagle on 10 which is tough but very possible, but that was the only real mistake in this round. Besides for making more than a couple chip ins in a single round, an Eagle at 17 is possible with some helpful wind, but can't make it across the last stretch of rough without it, probably need 3 or 4 m wind for both shots to get onto the green in two.

Ok first, the bad news. I am invalidating all my scores prior to this post, @Yohanov is back on top. I realized I was running a frame skip option on the NeoPop emulator. No idea if this helped or hurt my play, but I don't like it either way.

Now the good news, new PB on Japan -22. Two HIOs, but one par. Couldn't get the Eagle putt chance on 11 and I'm still trying to figure out if there is a way to do 16 for an on-in-two Eagle chance. So I still think this score could be improved, but this was a very fun round, had several other close chip ins and one very goofy near miss on a putt on Hole 13.

Another new Japan PB, -23 this time.

Very nice round, got every regular Eagle opportunity (5, 6, 8, 11) and also found out that I'm not sure an on-in-two Eagle chance is possible on 16 without some major wind help because I got some decent wind, but still fell short of the green. Luckily I got a chip in, so this ends up looking a lot like a very clean Japan scorecard from Big NTM with the exception of a chance to drive the green on Hole 13 for an Eagle putt. I had one good attempt on 13 in a different round that left me maybe only a couple yards short, but that one will need more significant wind help too, probably 5 or more.

Getting any better score on this would require 2 or 3 chips ins depending on how consistently the Eagle on 11 happens and otherwise perfect play. For now, time to move back over to the other courses.

Another new PB, Germany -23

I got a HIO on 8 and a chip in Eagle on 15. Made the on-in-two Eagle chances on 4, 7, and 10. The only mistake was that I clipped the edge of a tree on my second shot on 17, which is a bummer because I think I had enough wind to make the green for another possible Eagle putt.

Last score I'll post here for a while, gonna go back to Big NTM.

New PB on U.S.A. -20, this course is brutal, I shot probably twenty -19 rounds. HIO on 3 and Eagle on 13, then just straight Birdie play. The Eagle on 11 is possible if you don't have any headwind. Unlike Big NTM making the green in 2 on 8 is impossible even in very strong helpful wind.

Not really, I did play Mario Golf on GBC to death when I was a young teenager 25 years ago.

More recently, I fooled around on Irem Skins on SNES on Fightcade for a bit but really just enough to see how it functioned differently from NTM not enough to really post any scores.

My parents have one of those little Golden Tee plug into the TV things that I'll play as a way to pass the time when home for Christmas, but otherwise wouldn't seek it out.

I probably booted up a Top Player's Golf rom at some point in the last couple decades but honestly can't remember playing it at all.

If you are ever looking for a new challenge, I recommend Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds on PS3. HSG World Invitational is also great, but I think Out of Bounds is the peak of the series. The distance between the skill floor and ceiling is much greater as compared to NTM. It doesn't have the same simple arcade charm as NTM, but it has more more depth of strategy to explore.
