Damn it. That 2 seconds of Game Over screen is too short. The only way to get a pic is to pause when my last heli is exploding.

Oh yeah. Don't know if it counts as autofire, but I do make use of turbo on the controller.

Yeah, if you're going to play the PC Engine port make sure that you've got a camera ready to go the instant you die. I forgot SNK's advice to pause and lost a decent score. Just have to beat it again I suppose. Also, if you thought trying to get powerups in the arcade version was hard, just try the PCE ones. Man.

Been a while since I broke out the hucards. You have me curious now, I don't doubt the PCE port is hard. Tatsujin is stupid hard on the system.

P.s. I threw up a little when I saw Panda ' s score.

The port itself is good, the music has that PCE sound that I love. It's probably not as hard as the arcade, but specifically the powerups are real dicks. Bombs last for FUCKING EVER and take up more of the screen in the PCE port, which is nice for bosses and recovery. Also, Tatsujin is just unreal hard in every incarnation. On a bad day I can play five credits and not beat stage 1 once.

Glad the PCE version is included since that's the version I've been playing. :)

I've been taking a pic on my last life because my camera is far too slow for a gameover shot. Actual score may be a couple thousand higher, but whatever. Stage 10 better be the end because fuck that guy.

Submitting a score for Final Soldier :buttrock:

Mugicha - 1,342,700 - Coinops

wasn't use to this one at all, it feels a lot more hectic than the soldier blade caravan and I definitely have some room for improvement.

I tried to die to spawn back further to try and get a better set of powerups, but it looks like you need to roll through this level fully powered up with about 5 bombs to be comfortable. It has to be the last stage.

That's a heck of a lot higher than the score on the pcb.

It's probably been ten years since I dug out the NES version, so I gave it a shot this afternoon. Ugh, I don't know if I can play that one much, it runs at maybe 15 frames per second. You can also 'defeat' small enemies by scrolling them left/right off the screen, as they don't come back, haha.

I don't own the arcade pcb, so I'm trying out this version last. Best run for today:

I seem to be regressing in my score as I can't get near my second run. Sucks because I had a better score at Chempop's meet and I hadn't played the game for months before playing it there. Must have been something in the coffee.

My first run of a session is often better than the rest, especially for games I've never played before. It's weird.
