Go for Mushihimesama. I like DDJ, but Mushihimesama is such a great game I would go for it first, but hey, that's just my two cents.

What does Mushihimesama have in comparison to other Cave shooters (other than a bizarre art style)? I played alot of Espgaluda and the Donpachi series on emulator, but that's pretty much it.

The budget version will not come out. It has been cancelled.

My vote is for DDP DOJ.

Wow, that stinks...I was planning on getting it at some point...

Keep on with the recommendations, people!

If you like DDP, then I say go with DDP DOJ.

Ibara isn't quite as good, IMO. The basic game is a bit dry, but the arrange version is lots of fun and more manic.

No experience with Mushi as yet, so can't comment.

Mushi is cool if you like that old school vibe. That is to say it does not have anything as technical as Galuda or DDP in terms of scoring systems. It is alot harder the Galuda and about equal to DDP:DOJ. The bullet speed is abit higher then both those games.

I'd go with Mushi personally. Hard as nails and probably my second fave vert after Galuda.

Ibara is tops

but fucking difficult

it's nice when you can reach the 3rd stage on 1 credit (while keeping the medal game going)

I mainly played the arrange version, but I play the original in PCB format here and there

that's my pick anyway

Mushihime Sama >= Ibara

I've never played Mushihime Sama, but from the videos, the game looks and probably plays amazing. Ibara, on the other hand, has very good game play. This game is pretty much like all of Raizing's games.

Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the 3. They're all great.

I tend to play Ibara and Mushi more than DOJ, but that's just me.

I'd say get all 3, but if I had to pick one I would go with Ibara. Hard game, Raizing style arcade mode, and Cave style arrange mode. Best of both worlds in my opinion ;)

And don't let people discourage you by saying that Ibara and Mushi are bad ports. Yes there are some differences between them and their PCB counterpart, and the graphics aren't up to the standard of the Espgaluda and DOJ ports, but the gameplay is fine and you won't notice anything if you haven't been playing the PCBs to begin with.

Just my 2 cents. Have fun with whichever you choose.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm gonna buy Mushihimesama and DDJ at the same time.

Does anyone have a Play-Asia code, by the way?

Ibara is fucking cool, don't listen to the haters.

I rather play it than DoJ which is just a giant bullet mess that gets old fast.

Mushihime is great, seems that it took some people a while to come to this conclusion, I remember that it wasn't all that well-received when it came out. It has interesting scoring/chaining options, I also like the level graphics and enemy design, the bigger enemy creatures look awesome.

DDP DOJ is a great Arika port like Espgaluda.

The Mushi and Ibara ports = :mad_2:

now please explain why your opinion even matters

The game looks good? I've watched several super-play videos. I'm also planning on picking the PCB up pretty soon.

DDPDOJ yup.

The pinnacle of cave greatness IMO.

Mushi is good but the port is not the greatest(still worth owning tho)

Have not had the chance to play Ibara:emb:
