I bought a game once where the packaging had been damaged in a flood. The packaging was clearly water damaged and the seller mentioned the flood story in the description. Usually the game sold CIB for $100 at that time, and when the damaged version went up for sale, bidding ended at around $20... So there's a real question about whether keeping the damaged paper here is even worth anything on the collectors market. Perhaps it would even stigmatize it and result in a lesser price than just selling without the damaged box.

For the most part sure, except if the inserts are mildewy, black moldy paper inside a plastic sleeve. I would toss that shit out everyday and twice on Sunday and I can't quite tell, but it sure looks like that could be the case with the viewpoint, AOF and maybe others.

Assuming this is a real trash find and not a typical validation seeking Facebook post, if the carts are good, toss the boxes entirely, you will never rid them of that musty smell and living with moldy paper in your house because 'real is real' is as pathetic as it gets.

I think we got a lot less of it here in Europe and a lot less agressive. I might see some mold on an old cheese but that is about it.
Also our houses are for the large part made of stone. So mold is not as big of an issue.
