It has come to our attention that a number of member accounts have been hacked and taken over by bots. In most cases, a weak password has been the entry point (vector) of the attack.

A weak password is one that consists of very common words or names such as summer, love, the name of one of your friends, wife/husband or kids, names of popular electronics brands, short words where certain letters have been replaced by numbers (h3llo, 1337), etc. The shorter the password, the weaker it is.

A good/strong password has a length of at least 10 characters and is a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters like #, - or +. Ideally, it's unpronounceable like this: hB4-9;uwP+.

If you have a short or weak password, please change it to something more secure in order to protect your privacy, help us battle the bots and keep this place tidy.

Thank you.

Dammit. Ive had the same shitty 7 letter password here for just shy of 20 years now. I guess i finally have to change it to Neogeoisgay69 or something else similarly complex.

Yeah, definitely can't hurt to change a password if it's older than a year or two. The longer a password gets used, the higher the chance of a compromise, statistically speaking.

Why would it matter unless you allow bots to hammer your login page? An old warroom locked account of mine had "fuckrot" as password and i never had issues with it.

So which account was it? You keep teasing us but won't say who you were.

Don't fool yourself, the only reason your new account is still here is because your old one got fucked with by Rot.

Security matters.

Now shtum.

You are seeing many (hundred/thousands) login failures on accounts?
