Everyone talks about the games they're currently playing, or what they finished recently. What about the games sitting on your shelf (or on your hard disk) that you haven't even touched yet? Or maybe you fired them up once or twice and moved on to something else?

I've had quite a few over the last year, many of them excellent games that I just didn't put in the time to finish, even though I wanted to:

Batman: Arkham City
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Bastion
Darksiders
Dead Island
Dungeon Defenders
Rage
Warhammer 40K Space Marine
Fallout: New Vegas
Drakensang
Drakensang 2
Portal 2
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
The Witcher 2
Dragon Age 2
Braid
Skyrim (played for 65 hours, but never finished)

That's off the top of my head. Lot of good games there to catch up on.

What's your definition of "finishing" Skyrim?

With all those games I hit a point where I am genuinely satisfied with my progress and can stop playing. The only concern is that this is the first time with a Bethesda game that I've thought of starting a new character. So many different directions you can go where there is only one option to take. In Oblivion and Fallout 3 I could basically be "good", but also do a lot of evil quests too (In Oblivion I completed the thieves guild and dark brotherhood, but was regarded as a great person). Skyrim seems to be a bit less forgiving with that, or maybe its just me trying to make a truly "good" character. I also am basically using no magic at all, just Archery and armed fighting. I want to try the other side. I also feel being an Imperial has made the game much easier that I expected.

I'd like to co-op thru 360 revs of Guardian Heroes, & vs. SROA & Daytona w/ xbl friends. As the babies get older (read: sleep thru the night) i'd like to have a 'poker night' type of Voltron session weekly till we beat it.

Before 2012 is out, I plan on 1ccing whichever STG is in Kiselgof's cab.

Shit, my list may even be bigger than GD's. Something like 20+ PS3 games that I never have the time to get back to. And whenever I've had freedom recently I've spent it on reading and movies.

I'm definitely behind on my movies and TV shows as well..

I've got Skyrim downloading as I type this, not really going to get into yet, just hoping that it'll run on my rig. My problem is I'll just play quick arcade games rather then sitting through a huge game that takes hours to complete. I keep going back to Pinball FX, City of Heroes and all my random dollar iPod apps rather then finishing games I've had sitting on my shelf for years. It's only going to get worse when The Pinball Arcade comes out.

Here's my backlog

X-Men Wolverine (Got it for five bucks, about 75% finished)
Skyward Sword
Skyrim
Fallout New Vegas
Bastion
Guardian Heroes
Radiant Silvergun
Portal 2
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Jamestown
Child of Eden
Odin Sphere
No More Heroes 2
Sonic Generations

I've got a couple of other ones on my PS2 to do, but forget the names. I luck out and get the games I want for cheap, but as I said, I just get sucked into quick games and play them rather then a long story driven game.

I'm just talking about finishing the story. I've more or less done what I feel like of the sidequests.

Ah, ok. I've played the game to the end, there's just the last boss left.

chrono trigger-snes (not picked it up for a few months but possibly one of my top 5 games ever).

skyrim-360.

dark souls-360 (god know's how the games seriously hard.)

gears of war 3(still not started the campaign, but brought it day 1).

pier solar-mega drive.

secret of mana-snes.

i've really got to start getting stuck into these, but being self employed and having 2 kids doesn't help.

After seeing Bcfczulu's post I remembered I hope to run through the Mega Man Zero series at some point as well.

I never had to install that. I was in the early start though, so I just downloaded my game client.

Doesn't that thing install itself in the background, kinda like Blizzards Warden? At least thats what I've heard.
