I recently picked up a 2 slot cabinet and my board is toast. The battery corroded the surrounding chips and I'm getting vertical lines in the sprites and graphic glitches. Who's a good source to pick up a working replacement board? I'm not really looking to purchase one on eBay and prefer to acquire a board from someone who repairs or is knowledgeable about the 2 slot boards.

As corrosion goes that is reasonably minor - and still working is a really good sign for any future repair. Its very saleable in its current state and the sale price would partially cover the cost of a fully working one

You could probably sell it on the "for sale" boards here

and use the money to help cover the cost of a new board if you posted a "want to buy" here

Good luck with it; hopefully someone can help. Just don't toss it. Doesn't look that bad, and someone will definitely want it for repair if you don't.

Yeah, it's in pretty good shape overall and I cleaned it really good. I prefer to have it repaired and I'm looking for a reasonable repair cost.

Here's a photo of what the graphics glitch looks like. I can't currently post in the sale forums because I'm a new member.

Hey BB, Yeah I'd like to have it repaired. I can't PM you because I'm a new member. What's the approximate cost to have the board repaired?

Ok, so my MV2F board was repaired by BB and he did an amazing job fixing all of the known corrosion issues, sound issues, etc. I've cleaned the slots extremely well and typically have no issues with the board or cartridges after a good cleaning. Sometimes cartridges are not recognized at all (cross hatch) and eventually work when I swap them from slot 1 to slot 2 and vice versa. Some games will glitch out and show me the UNIBIOS 4.0 warning when I slightly jiggle the cartridges from left to right. The graphic glitches go away depending on how much pressure I apply to the left or right side of the cartridge. I'm trying to figure out if I need to reflow the solder joints or if the cartridge slots just need to be replaced all together. Any ideas?

Are you jiggling the carts while it's powered on?
If this is the case, what you describe will happen but if you want new slots you will have to purchase them.

Sounds pretty typical. All I can say is make sure the carts are clean. The slots should be cleaned too if they aren't clean already. Clean carts obviously will prevent having to clean slots often.
