I'm so used to getting snobbish looks from good looking girls so today was a shock to my system.

Got my Subway club and was walking to the door. Noticed a doll at the end of the line that looked at me, so when I got to the end of the line, I looked at her again and she smiled at me. Caught me off guard and gave a quick smile back then looked down like a doof.

Sorry, but little things like this make my day. :D

She's probably married.

It seems like all the women who are confident and forward enough to talk to me already have a ring on their finger.

A smile means a lot to me. I love it when I do something for someone or I make them laugh and they smile. To me, that means something went right with said person. Clutch is right in regards to people always frowning and mean mugging just because. Do things with a smile, it not only confuses people but it also makes you feel good and do the job better. :D

A smile means general friendliness or optimism.

Or they're not wearing pants.

I smile at everyone I see
or give them a general greeting.
Just about always get a response,

My girlfriend insists on smiling at people. I've told her it's going to get her in trouble one day. I think she just likes being hollered at.

My thoughts exactly, rare. I try to give smiles at whomever I look at directly. My folks always told me growing up, "smiles go miles". However, that shouldn't suggest that I smile at everybody. Giving a smile to some folks, right or wrong circumstances, and you could either offend that person or disrespect them. The ladies, I smile at them all the time. Hoodrats on the other hand, erm....it's best to not make eye contact and keep moving. Smiling at a hoodrat is a one way street to a fist fight, and probably an unfair one if there're two or more hanging out together.

When someone I don't know or only have a minor acquaintance smiles, I take that as either 'I'm having a good day, and you should too' or 'I hope you're having a good day.' I don't take it to mean anything truly sincere beyond a general wish of goodwill.

It could also mean that they're uncomfortable and don't want you to notice that because they subconsciously don't want to be viewed poorly by others, which basically means they're very self conscious.

She was probably smiling cause she knew when she got home she had some 12 inch cock waiting on her.

Whenever a chick smiles at you it means she wants to fuck. Always.

She went from stare to smile because she thought I was a stud muffin. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. lol. In regard to a post above, there are times you shouldn't smile. My friend was about to get his ass kicked because he knocked over some dude's Marshall stack. After some time yelling and then talking, the guy calmed down. I've got a grin on my face because a bad situation had been diffused. Next thing I know out of the blue, he says he's gonna kick my ass! He thought I was laughing at him! Since he was twice my size I had to do some fast talking. lol

Don't get too high off of your highs. A girl smiled at you in Subway. That's cool. Before the euphoria wears off you need to set your bar higher immediately.

You know I kinda don't like admitting it,
but I probably make some people uncomfortable while I do that.
But I am pretty extroverted,
if you don't believe me,
ask turf.
I'm okay with approaching anyone.
Now girl wise, since i'm guessing you guys are wanting unsolicited advice,
if you want to get a lady to notice you.
Please get a girl to notice you!
Speak with your outside non library voice to greet them,
flirt, complement etc.
Let them know you're interested so they can reciprocate.
The opposite sex (or same if you're so inclined)
isn't that hard to figure out.

Random chicks, in random places, smile at me all the time, I think it's just them being friendly. I used to think it was them "showing interest". A couple times I tried to capitalize on the smile, didn't go to well... then couple of times something actually came out of it.

You must be a pretty ugly mug if people in the service industry don't even smile at you (which seems to be the case, since one girl at a Subway smiling at you apparently warranted a whole thread.)

I thought this thread was dumb until I realized I'm not sure how to respond to a "What's your number?"

And not just because I don't have a cell phone, either.

I smiled at an elderly gentlemen when I stopped in for a bite the other day, and he let me get ahead of him in line. He then asked me about my day and we chatted pleasantly. I think smiling at everyone you pass is a great way to spread good feelings.

No shades - smile back.
Wearing shades - keep up the poker face.
