Hello everyone,

I have an mv-4f in a big red. It has a coin battery mod for a 2032 lithium battery. A new battery last about a month or so. I found a USB powered coin battery that potentially won’t die. I measured the voltage of it and it is 5v instead of the 3v~ of the real 2032. It is working perfectly so far. Was wondering if this may have issues down the line. Is anyone else doing this?

Thanks
T

A 2032 battery should last a lot longer than that. I have 3 modded boards with coin cell batteries, and they have been holding a charge on one battery for years now.

You should double check your mod. Make sure the charging circuit is disabled.

Thanks for the advice. But what I really want to know is will the 5v hurt the board?
