Admit it, the market for neo stuff is dying and the items are losing value. The poor economy doesn't help either.

I still see plenty of regular auctions on ebay, the stuff just dones't go for what it used to sell for, that's all. Like someone mentioned, people have other priorities right now.

I do agree with some of the BINs being outrageous, for example a used copy of super spy going for $60 bucks when you can get a new one for $30. And one of those sellers is a well-known member here. I think that the sellers are way out of line and uneducated with the auctual value of these things, which for some games is next to nothing, yet think everything is worth a million dollars. I think that is hurting potential buyers, not ebay trying to make money off of auctions.

How much of a cut does ebay take these days?
I haven't sold anything on ebay for years.

This is obvious just from the fact that most of the big Japanese sellers have AES games that have been sitting around on eBay for months. Hit-Japan has games that he listed in January still for sale.

I really have no idea as I've returned to the Neo after a 12 year hiatus. But I am assuming the price guide here on neo-geo.com is a bit out of date? If so, most prices across the board have gone down, while the truly rare games have crept up in price.

10%, eh?

I've got a bunch of stuff I want to sell (MVS carts, mint Japanese superguns (Vega Jr, Sigma 3000), tons of Japanese console games) but my for-sale posts never show up on here.

I'd hate to go the ebay route, but I may be forced to.

Try again, you may just sell it to some people that want it.

If still no joy, PM Wasabi or Bobak and see if they can help you out.

Yar. I'll try to feel my way down the right avenues.

And thanks for that tip about PMing Wasabi or Bobak. Will do!

Weird thing about BIN auctions is that somehow you always have the feeling that the seller is trying to rip you off, when sometimes he's simply actually to make it sell faster...

And clearly when people browse through ebay and see that an auction is getting a lot of attention, thanks to the bid counter, they just get attracted to it like zombies...The other day one seller had a $50 starting point on his item with a $80 BIN, and that auction was almost on the last day and been left "untouched"... So i thought i'd get it easily for $60, and i place a bid, thus canceling his BIN... Turns out the auction ended at $96, and i actually stopped at $85... :emb:

;) Yip, i would do more auctions and sell tons more stuff but dont really fancy getting £20 for my Striker 1045 + :p. I guess it's about risk, if you just want shot of the stuff your not too bothered, if your trying to make a wee bit it's not worth it

By the way the other day a german seller put many mvs games for auction, here are the results: not bad for the kizuna huh? (sorts of balances the lower price on striker 1945)

Surprised he shipped!

It definitely wasn't boots. The seller was not happy about how low they went, and made it known to me.

On the occasion I get a "great deal" on there, i've grown accustomed to not receiving the item. Option 1 take huge financial hit, option 2 get neg. feedback (who cares). More and more people would rather take the feedback hit than financial hit.

The problem lies in ebay's auction listing fees. $0.10 for under $1, or $0.50 for $25. So most people ASSUME it will get to $25 anyways, so why not save $0.40 - then it doesn't make it and sellers get pissed. Ebay takes enough of the sale price, should let you list whereever you want, I bet there'd be alot less "items not received", thus ultimately saving ebay time/money.

Yeah. I too have been noticing a sharp decline in MVS cart auctions. Heck, it always seems to be difficult to find MS5 in loose cart for a good price these days because I may get the money to purchase it some day.
