Square gate vs Octagon gate?

square for sure, but I basically get used to whatever is the standard in my area, if you have no arcades around and are used to octogon gate, no reason to change, but if your deciding which you like better and your still new on both, might as well go with the more common square.

square gate makes those ridiculous super motions in fatal fury special and games like that a little more manageable when you can hit the corners precisely.

I ended up going back to a square gate. my charge characters were suffering too much. Just need to practice 2x qcf more.

I prefer Square gates for fighters, Round or Octo for pretty much everything else. Shooters feel kinda restrictive in movement with a Square gate. But I can't hit my diagonals well with an Octo when I play fighting games. Maybe I'm just weird.
