Crazy game, I still don't get half the mechanics.

Getting a lot of Cho Aniki vibes from the command input system, and plenty of Deathsmiles from the enemies and scenery.

Just a first run in the 10 mins I had available today to get a score on the board. Will definitely have to look up a guide on the net (any recommendations?), the only thing I remembered and what also worked in boomerang that you are able to take away the weapons from the stage 1 boss with the bubble. (Does that make a difference point wise?)signal-2020-07-07-222145.jpeg

struggling for consistency with this game...Can juggle sometimes, sometimes I can't & that 2nd level boss is a dick, seems like you need a speed boost...or I just need more practice. Probably not this weekend, fencing & hay... here is one from last weekend...

This game is nuts. I also have yet to pass level 2 on one credit.

Skate323k137 - 597,800 - Stage 2 - Max Chain 42 - ST-V

I've literally never played this despite owning an ST-V multicart. If you're in the same boat, here are a few key mechanics.

Use back - forward - shot to get a focus shot. This can trap enemies you can capture (and throw) with the B button. This helps build chains. Captured enemies float differently based on your weapon.

Forward - back - shot fires a spread shot.

Down - down - shot fires a bomb.

There are a million other nuances but that got me going.

Thanks, skate.

The shmups write-up is confusing to me as I don't get the directional numbers.

I'll mostly say fuck this game, but it's not without its charm. It's balls tough. I'm finally getting the hang of it. If I can get to stage 3, I'll call it a win.

Thanks, skate.

It is fighting game terminology. Tl;dr look at your keyboard numpad and imagine each number correlates to a specific direction on your joystick or dpad. 6 would be right 4 would be left. 2 would be down, 8 would up. 7/1/3/8 would be upleft, downleft, downright, upright. 5 is neutral.

Thanks ChuChu, I figured it out just after posting that.
