It's more of I want to see how people handle the rank in this game more than anything. This game gets hard, and there are many things that contribute to score. Boss milking can be easy or very ugly depending on where the rank sits.

The game distracts you with the sounds and the visuals, and it also seems like you can't dodge bullets with a small margin. There is so much going on that draws you in- you need to focus on playing and not letting the game distract you.

The hard part for me is that scoring well requires multiple lockons with the laser and the game forces you to the top half of the screen for that. It’s trying to find that balance between score and survival that is getting me.

This has always been my issue as well. The sad thing is if you want to max scoring you really need to memorize and utilize you lock on laser more than anything. Also, on Saturn you get extends at 500k and 1Mil which also affects the rank. The longer you stay alive the harder it gets. The arcade you get extends at 1M and 2M. Your rank is maxed out by Area 3 and stays that way till Area 5.

Played a little more today. I think I do better when I toggle the score and other stuff off so I have less destractions.

Posting my first attempt. I played this a lot a while back. First on iOS (sorry to say, but it was quite a nice port for what it was), then on MAME, now finally on Saturn in my cab. Feels good.

After reading up a bit on the strategy for the game (https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=80), shooting for 8-lock is key. 121.5k points for an 8-laser chain. damn.

Love the graphics, love the music even more.

Nice! Yeah once you hit that 500k extend with no deaths on Saturn it stays pretty heavy.

Made some progress tonight, but it gets tough fast. Also now that I understand the mechanics better I'm taking a lot more stupid deaths chasing the bigger chains.
