BODY:
TORRANCE, Cal.--SNK Home Entertainment Inc., one of the early developers for the Nintendo Entertainment System, has pulled out of the 8-bit market to focus on its more advanced Neo Geo system.

The Neo Geo, a video game system consisting of 16-bit and 8-bit microprocessors, was introduced last fall.

"We were spread out between coin-op, NES and Neo Geo and we wanted to concentrate on the Neo Geo," said Kent Russell, marketing and sales director, video rental division at SNK.

SNK, which will continue to develop for the coin-op market, signed on with Nintendo of America Inc. in 1985 shortly before the release of its NES.
