Because I completely suck at Border Down (and horizontal shmups in general), the side game this month is Trigger Heart Exelica.

For Border Down, I'm pretty much a noob at that game. I nominated it because I couldn't recall playing it for shmup of the month on here or racketboy in recent years. Hopefully someone else on here has some tips aside from being able to change your ship movement speed in different areas. There's always the shmups forum too, usually good strategy guides on there.

For Trigger Heart Exelica, grab enemies early and often, and learn to throw them into other enemies. You can also hold the enemy for a bit to block bullets and then toss them into other enemies (easier if you don't use auto-swing). Let off of "shot" periodically to collect the gold bonus items. Scoring is way easier when you use your enemies to destroy other enemies.

Yessir. Arcade defaults, one credit.

There are some boss differences in that version, by all means feel free to play but I'll probably make a separate score table.

Also I'd like to say: this game rocks it's like a mix of insane shooting action and bowling.
I've gotten to where I so thoroughly blow up the first stage boss that this real bad evil chick shows up and I feel like I'm shooting myself in the foot because then she kicks my ass. Sk8 do you know who I'm talking about?

Yep. Eventually you'll learn the patterns. The better you do on bosses the more "phases" you'll have to go through for that boss, this can happen with other bosses too (namely the stage 3 boss iirc).

Yay, have been wanting to play this competitively for a while. Don't know how much time I'll have this month since TRP-STGT starts in the middle, but I'll throw up scores in the meantime.

Good job on the ALL, it's been a long time since I could pull that off on THE.

I don't know the exact scoring differences on PS2/360 but I vaguely recall something about the multiplier being not there or being different on PS2. This might explain the score differences. If I get bored this month I might see if I can find a PS2 ISO and give it a quick run to see how my score compares with DC/NAOMI.
