PS1 Steering Wheel Modification

Now that I got some free time I'm finally getting around to trying to convert a shitty elastic band steering wheel into something a little nicer. Why? Because I fucking can I guess. Redesigned the original part to incorporate a hole to push the spring through. I'll know in an hour or so if this idea was retarded (survey says: yes it is)

First set didn't fit, reprinting.
Second print fits but needs more room for the zip ties. Reprinting...

Lol thanks for the update. These days I'm messing around with an old dos PC Bungie cord wheel, similar vintage, because I'm too cheap to buy a 300+ or 1000+ fancy wheel. It piqued my interest that you were going to try to make some sort of improvement to it bc I could probably adapt it to my own obsolete wheel.

So what were you trying to do anyway? It wasn't totally clear from your first post. Change Bungie cord resistance to spring based resistance?

Yeah and then I had the idea to create a circuit using a potentiometer and some logic but life got busy and I moved on to other projects like my FDS stick mod
