I have confirmed that this version is fully compatible with the new NGCD/CDZ bios adapters for sale here: Neo Geo CD CDZ Unibios Adapter - Neogeo CD(Z) Dual Bios . This was my first CDZ Universe Bios install and it's so nice to finally have a modded CDZ after working with the top loader for so long. I am not the creator of this bios adapter, he's located in France and provided immediate install assistance when I reached out to him.View attachment IMG_3232.JPEG

Have you installed the new drivers Raz posted on the Universe Bios site? If not this new version will absolutely not work. Also, in the input menu I see the inputs active, do the other outputs work as expected? I have tested both Top Loader and CDZ running KOF98 in demo mode for over 24hrs on each platform, this is a good test because it will continuously load CD data until you quit the test.

The classic installation didn't work because the driver is not signed, nothing to do on Windows 11.
I went through zadig-2.9.exe for the installation of WinUSB v6.1.
I went through F8 (and the deactivation of the driver control)) at boot, I then installed "PC-2-Neo USB3.inf" in PC-2-NEO USB3 Windows Driver\PC-2-Neo USB3\

But works on W10 with Virtual Box and 3.5 drivers.
Not tested on W10 with Virtual Box and 3.5a drivers.

Hi Zouzzz,

Thank you for the detailed troubleshooting output. It looks like the issue is Windows 11 driver signing enformcement related. I will investigate.

Best Regards,
Mike Wolak

You're welcome and thanks for all.
Zouzzz,

I did a fresh Windows 11 64-bit Install w / other driver installed apart from my graphics and sound drivers and I was able to start PC2NEO just fine. I used the Zadig tool included with the driver install to install the signed WinUSB driver for the PC2NEO device.

Hi,

WinUSB by Zadig works great but I can't install PC2Neo.

Once the PC-2-NEO driver is correctly installed, on the PC-2-NEO hold
the PC-2-NEO “HWB” button and while holding it press and release the
“RESET” button. This should prompt you for another driver.
Point this driver installer to the “Atmel USB Driver” folder.

I push HWB & RST buttons and Windows (like readme) doesn't ask to install new driver.

I tested with Windows Device Manager but didn't work too :

HWB & RST buttons are for flashing the firmware on the USB2NEO device, this is not what you want to do here. At this point you need to uninstall the current driver, then simply run the Zadig tool to install the WinUSB driver. You can uninstall the driver by opening device manager , finding the device and right clicking on it which should bring up a menu allowing you to uninstall and delete the driver.

Hi Zouzzz,

Windows USB drivers can be a pain to update once a particular one is assocated with a hardware PID/VID. When you uninstall the driver there's also a secondary option to delete that driver, in your case you'll have to do that as well. Once the driver is deleted, dont unplug/plug USB2NEO, use the Zadig tool to reassociate the winusb driver. I had this exact same problem the other day with my USB Eprom programmer.

Step 1 : uninstall : GREAT

Step 2 : install new version of WinUSB with Zadig WITHOUT unplug/plug USB2NEO : GREAT

Step 3 : but install the driver isn't possible by Windows didn't work and I tested with Windows Device Manager but didn't work too :
  • by Windows :

Something is out of sequence here. "3rd party inf file does not contain digital signature information" should not appear on drivers installed by Zadig as installing signed WinUSB/libusb is the sole purpose of the tool.

Hi,
Ok :
cmd + bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu yes + reboot W11 + F8 + Option "Disable mandatory driver signature checking and I installed the driver".

Sorry you're having a hard time, I simply can't reproduce this on my end. Make sure you cable looks OK in the test screen and ensure your driver details look like what I've shown in the attached screen shots. I've also include a screenshot of the CRC operation you were attempting to perform. This is all on a fresh Windows 11 64-bit install.cable_test_pc.jpg

Hi,

Below the installed driver and the communication tests seem good, but USB failed.

But we can read Unknow in Driver Provider :

So, my cable is correct, I used PC2Neo USB 3.5 with Virtua Box under W10.

Hi Zouzzz, Are you running all these tests on an MVS? Apart from some very specific tests like CRC'ing PRG rom , Reading PRG rom and PEEK/POKE work ram , nothing else will work there. I had assumed the entire time you were using an NGCD. Although I don't expect any regressions in this new version, my tests have all been focused on the NGCD (top loader and CDZ) functionality. I have an MVS somewhere in storage, I'll see if I can run the same tests soon.

I haven't NGCD, I use the little hardware with 2 slot MVS (Mv1c and Mv1f), I can test with 2 AES.
Nothing works except the Test, it always shows the error "USB failure, Closing PC-2-Neo!!".
