Who is this member? I only ask because I was not trying to cause any harm to anyone just was asking questions. I would ask anyone on this forum to keep it civil when dealing directly with any individual involved with this. I don't want to make enemies just trying to understand the whole story.

What I want to know from the big time Neo Geo collectors here is, were you ever offered and did you ever buy any of these exclusive protos NGF claims to have sold to their top tier collectors? We see the claims how Fun Fun Bros, Last Odyssey and the like are only offered to the top Freaks. Well, I'd imagine those guys are the same ones Dion points out, 8Man, Mahesak, and Stefano. Yet, I've never seen anyone actually show these games off in their collections or even allude to having them. It's always something I wondered when Dion or Chris brings those games up, because surely there aren't bigger spending collectors out there than these guys... yet... They don't seem to have those games. I'm I wrong? Do 8Man and Stefano have Last Odyssey carts sitting on their shelves?
The entire point of the authentication deal is to sniff out big money marks. No doubt in my mind. But it does stand to reason that if these guys (8man and so forth) got the opportunity to purchase these protos, or more likely copies of these things, they would never dump them or even take screen grabs. This makes owning something like that ridiculously exclusive in an already exclusive hobbie.
Although, the safe money is on NGF having nothing except original art proofs and things like that to push on the big tymers they ensnare

Exactly. So these game may exist and those people that have them don't owe anybody shit to dump or even prove they exist. Now, for us peasants, it would be cool to have this stuff out there assuming there is even stuff to be out there.
I would agree, the point of things like that are the same as things like the Mona Lisa. The art work is in museums for all to enjoy not sitting in someones living room for only them. If these carts truly exist they should be made available for all to enjoy not just a privileged few.

No they "shouldn't" be. I am saying it would be cool and sometimes protos do get dumped like ghostlop. But the main thing is If someone pays thousands upon thousands for a game that they never want dumped, it's their money and they owe you nothing. I think driving a 4 million dollar car would be cool, that doesn't mean the owner of a 4 million dollar car "should" just up and let me only because I can't afford one.
thats true but there are fakes that are affordable for the rest of us, take a classic cobra the car can cost upwards of 1 million dollars but there are fiberglass kit replicas that people have access to that are a fraction of the cost of a real one and unless you are up close and know what to look for you could not tell the difference. Your car theory does not really hold water since most of the famous ones that people want there are kit cars that do the exact same thing I am saying about these neo protos.
I wonder how many have legit copies of Metal Slug or Turf Masters, or insert rare/expensive game here instead of MVS converts. There are probably only 10 people on this forum that can afford to drop the 8 grand for the listed turf masters on ebay right now but most could afford a convert. Does that convert make the real one any less expensive? no but does it allow people to enjoy these games like they are supposed to do? yes.
People forget that games are supposed to be shared and enjoyed not horded like the Holy Grail, even forgetting the Neo for a minute how many have repo carts from other systems either by individuals or companies? Is the Tengen version of Mrs. Pacman any less enjoyable then the Namco version? hell that was a repo wasn't it? lets burn Tengen to the ground! Not everyone on here shares the horder sentiment and I applaud you for that, as for the rest of you try to remember what it was like when you were a kid and shared your games among your friends. You did it to share the love and enjoyment you got from those games, those ideals are as valid today with repo carts as they were when you were kids.

Neo Turf Masters wasn't always $8,000. That is something pretty recent and all Neo titles (homecart and MVS) have skyrocketed in the last couple years. I have a bunch of carts I bought 7-8 years ago for almost nothing that are going for hundreds now. With all the new CMVS options and the NGX a LOT more people have been getting into collecting for the Neo and have just bought everything without having the patience to wait for deals so the sellers on eBay have been having a field day being able to charge whatever they want and people will pay it.
It does not change the fact that the people calling themselves gamers have forgotten what it means to be one. They can do what they want with the stuff they buy but it does not change the fact that they have lost their way. From where I stand these people are investors or capitalists not gamers because a true gamer would never hoard like that, they would share the fun that they get from what they have.

Well, they also call out the top echelon in that email to you. So, I simply want to know if these games were ever made available to these collectors. We seem to hear a lot that it's offered, but I've never seen one collector with them. Maybe they do. If they do, cool. Whatever. I don't care if these games ever get dumped. Cool, sure, but worth worrying about? No way.
