I still don't get the LCD bit...
I'm pretty sure they just wanted to add something that's a bit different... something that wasn't done before. Like when the first guys started putting cold cathode light's under the metal covers of their modded 2 slot boards.

Imo it's not that bad of a job. I've seen far worse. the only thing I really don't like about the craftsmanship is that the RCA jacks don't line up. That looks a bit crap.

Oh god. Another Jojo special. I'm too meticulous to let shit like that slide and put my name on it. And people try to charge premiums for CMVS units, it just pisses me off. Anything more than $500 for a CMVS is just too much for the average person. I've even seen some $600 consoles made of wood that had some wonky craftsmanship as well. If people want to charge these prices, they better pay attention to detail and put their love into building the consoles.

Xian Xi: You got it, you take and it works.
If it does not then you contact me and are looking for a solution to correct the error.

This is a prototype.
Completely hand-made, occur as minor aesthetic defects or workmanship.

As long as you stand by your product I'm fine with it.

Gentlemens!
Try to appreciate the positives for my efforts.
Neither easy nor cheap to create something from scratch.
Thank you!

I didn't complain about the case. It actually seems to be well made. It's just that all that hard work you put into making the case is a bit wasted, if you aren't careful when drilling the holes for the RCA jacks and other connectors.

I too used a hand drill and this is what my own boards looked like:

Even my very first consolized board that actually started the whole consolized craze back in 2002 had connectors that did line up:

Also, if you're asking that much (and that's just a bit of advice for your future work), then you should try to use better parts. Here's an example for a better DIN socket that doesn't really cost much more than the one you used:

Btw, my very first board (the one in the 2nd picture) had the same kind of DIN socket that you used for the power inlet. Mine was mounted in a way that no one could see the terrible build quality of the socket. I truly hate these things and crinch everytime I see one of those on a newly made CMVS.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but really ... try not to waste your money on shitty parts. Anyone who buys actual carts instead of just playing roms should be able to afford it. Afterall the total price of the system will only increase by a few Euros and it really is a worthwhile investment as it will make any system look (and work) much better.

The better DIN sockets start at 1.70€ and this is the most expensive one:

The crap ones range from 0.35€ to 0.76€ depending on the number of pins. Here's the one that most use for the power inlet as it's compatible with the SC200's plug:

BUT ... you already made a step in the right direction by not using the cheapest RCA jacks.

Those are crap:

Unfortunately, we are the best connectors that are basically easy to obtain.
I tried to order the components in the country.
Unfortunately, not always well chosen ...

I still want to see a nice side loading unit. Nicest one still is the Ben Heck one but there is room for improvement in the look of it.

I own that CMVS from Ben, Xian, if you or anyone else is interested in it shoot me a PM. I've got an Omega now so I really have no use for it.

No thread highjacking intended guys, please continue.
