I just got a NCD from auction that was listed as tested and working. It was console only, so no power supply came with it.
I stumbled upon this old thread:
http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showt...ment-for-the-neo-geo-cd-power-supply-*solved*
and applied the info in that thread for a quick "testing" hack only.
I did manage to get the power light to come on, but hooking the NCD to my TV didn't supply me an image or sound, with or without the drive attached and a controller plugged in (dunno if that made a diff, but I tried it anyway).
I haven't tore into the main board yet.
Initially, I did connect the 5V and the 10v (12V) spots initially, since this:
http://old.pinouts.ru/Game/neo_geo_cd_power_pinout.shtml
was all I had to go on. Having it on the wrong points allowed the NCD to turn on, but will not turn back on after turning it off. The only thing I noticed was that a transistor was getting hot. Swapping points made the power stay on constant.
Anyone can help me out?
