Hey guys I am so stoked! I just got my first Big Red! I have been playing it all night!

It needed a little love at first. I had to clear two of the coin slots that some asshole had jammed coins metal and a stick of gum in. I also threw in some new lights on the coin returns!

Its it pretty nice shape! The other side has some graffiti but I kinda laughed! It says Veo Glo where they have scraped off the lettering lol.

Anyways the only real problem I am having with the arcade is the sound is super quite. The slider on the motherboard is making a difference but its so quite you cant even hear the sound test unless its on center. I looked at the speakers they look fine. What should I be checking?

Also the screen is kinda off center to the right? I tried H position it moves it over but the picture is still short of the edge of the screen? I am using the board in the image maybe I will have to look in the back? The monitor is super bright with no burn in and great color it does bounce a little sizewise from white to dark though. But I have had quite a few CRTs do this in the old days.

I would also like to get a yellow button and some original coin return plastics. Mine are yellow from Happs.

Here she is in her natural habitat!

Heres the board I am adjusting monitor on.

Nice, I wish I had a remote board in my 2 slot. I had to adjust my horizontal width coil to help my screen width.

How does one adjust that? Also where can I get some new micro switches for the joysticks? The ones I have are white and say cherry on them. A couple of them click but seem to send an intermittent signal.

I have the same cab :) high five!

http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/en/

you can get switches here, you can also get them right from happ controls but last time I ordered from them they had a 25 dollar minimum I think it was.

I'm sure there are many other good places to get switches but I have personally ordered from both of these.

I got my sanwa JLW sticks from paradise arcade shop, which fit awesomely into your cab :)

This is a good video, It really is easier than it looks. Just be careful, read and research a lot.

Thanks I will check them out! Do I need the long barrel buttons for the MVS? Or can I use anything from the paradise shop?

Also where can I get a new overlay mine is shot.

Can anyone identify what sticks I have? The left stick is shot and sloppy. It also turns that square thing on the bottom when you turn the stick so it kinda screws up the throw sometimes. The right stick is much tighter and works pretty good!

any of these buttons will work

pretty sure these are the direct replacements for your sticks
http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/en/58-il-eurostick-joystick

but I opted for these sanwa JLW's that also fit with no modification :)

you can even get bat top ones if american sticks are your preference.

Do a full capacitor replacement on the neo's audio section, assuming that the cab wiring is still stereo and no asshole wired it to mono.

What would I look for if it was rewired for mono? There looks to be a couple splices/repairs on the main harness???

Think I will pick up some of those IL buttons. Are the 50 Gram microswitches what most guys use? Does anyone like the Sanwa or Semitsus better?

I have to hunt down one of these:
img5157s.th.jpg

What kind of lawn do these usually gather to? I suppose they prefer places where there are electrical outlets nearby. They start trusting people if you just feed them the correct kind of electricity, I reckon.

Maybe best if I just wait for two of them to mate and grab the egg, I might be able to keep it warm enough to hatch.

Either that or I have to buy one from ebay.com and pick up from USA and then somehow put it in a cargo freighter which ends up in Finland. I don´t know which way is less ridiculous. They never offer to ship a cabinet at all, it is always pick up only... :(

To attract a MVS cab you really need to seed your lawn with large amounts of cash. That brings them in. Then once they are in your lawn you need to consistently put out cash to keep them there as they will eat it very rapidly and will be looking for more in no time.

They are very hungry creatures and prefer large bills don't bother with small denominations that doesn't quench their pallet. If for some reason you quit with the constant inflow of cash to feed them you will find them upside down with their monitors off the next morning.

They are however beautiful creatures to observe and by all means you should not hesitate to go bankrupt feeding them!

I am kinda temped to go with balltops for some reason. Always played with bats but the ball seems like it would offer more precision.

Also when replacing the buttons does the polarity of the wires matter or just that they are plugged in right on the terminals?

It's kind of the same thing. There is the positive that runs to the board and a ground. These will be separate wires. What I'd do is first remove the microswitch for one button, put the new microswitch in matching the wires identically, then replace the button. Rinse, repeat.

If there is any doubt, put a multimeter on the terminals. If your + and - are on the correct polarity terminals, you will get a positive reading. If your positive terminal is on the ground, you will get a negative reading.

There's a whole lot of Colorado in this thread!

Slightly belated congratulations on your acquisition. I've just gotten a cabinet myself and figured this site would be a great resource. From this thread alone I've learned that JLWs are drop-in replacements (which is fantastic as I generally prefer Japanese sticks).

Anyhow, grats again, and if you ever find yourself way up north, look me up!
