4. Also soldering pins 40 and 39 have nothing to do I believe with the MV-1C motherboard you are using like some say. It has to do with the bios you use. I had 2 Universe Bios chips I tried on this motherboard a 2.0 and 2.3. With the 2.0 it worked without soldering pins 40 and 39 together. On the 2.3 I had to solder pins 40 and 39 together or it would not work.

It's not required ALL the time, only sometimes. And yes it is only on the 1C. When I did it it was with a 2.2 not 2.3 unibios. But my other 2.2 did not require it.

Considering each and every MVS board with the 27C1024 type bios (i.e. all except the MV1C) has pins 39 and 40 (and also 38) tied to 5v, there is no reason not to do the same when you install a 27C1024 bios on the MV1C as well.

Good info. Hey MKL is it possible to use a 2 slot bios on a 1C? I plan on getting another unibios for my current project but want to do the socket mod now.

Yes you could do that. You will run into a z80 error though if you try booting the system with no game in. This is because there is no Z80 code held on the MV-1B or MV-1C.
