1997, if only because it had some of the best games I had ever played, including:

-Money Idol/Puzzle Exchanger
-Magical Drop III
-Shock Troopers
-The Last Blade (or what would've been Samurai Shodown V, if rumors were to be believed)
-King Of Fighters '97 (rumored to be the last of the franchise, which later proved to be false)

1994, 1998 and 1999 all get runner-up nods (2000 deserves special mention; even though it was probably the worst year for the Neo-Geo productivity-wise, it still brought us Metal Slug 3 and King of Fighters 2000).

Switch these 2 years and you have my list. Apr 1995 - Apr 1996 was an awesome year for the Neo.

'99-00 for me. With MotW, KOF2k, NG Pocket Color, as well as the dreamcast ports.

i'd have to say my personal favorite is 1994.

King of Fighters '94 - the beginning of SNK's flagship series
Fighters History Dynamite - my favorite fighter on the NeoGeo
Windjammers - my favorite non-fighting game on the NeoGeo
World Heroes 2 Jet
Art of Fighting 2

1996 as well, it's hard to argue against it really. So many good neo games from all parties and the birth of Metal Slug, and when KoF really came into it's own, not to mention cult classics like Turf Masters & Kizuna Encounter. I'm also gonna personally say 2000, as it's my fave KoF and we got Capcom Vs SNK - though deeply flawed was just amazing to see all those characters together at last.

1996. Metal Slug was the reason I wanted to get into Neo Geo in the first place.

Probably the summer of 1992 for me. I got Last Resort from Die Hard. I still remember when Fed Ex came with my game. I was disappointed with all the slowdown in the game and couldn't believe such an expensive game had so much slowdown. Wait, maybe that's not the best year then...

I'd have to say the best time was whenever I got Fatal Fury 1, Super Baseball 2020, and Baseball Stars. Those games were sick. It was probably 1991.

This is a close one for me; 1996 is when the majority of the awesome games came out, however 2000 had slug 3 and garou... and i love me some garou.

Almost any year from 94 up could be considered...I'd go with 2000 just for garou/slug 3,and the fact that the neo was 10 years old and still holding its own..
