Do you have the space for a 25 incher? It's big and heavy as hell. Plus they are deep. Chassis on most 20 and 25's are 20 inches deep not including connectors and cables coming out the back. So I would say 24 inches or so to be safe.
Plus, make sure what ever you are putting it on can handle the weight. The pvm2530 is around 120 pounds.
If it was me and the space wasn't an issue, I would go with the larger model.

Thanks broken, right now I have all the room in the world because I have an unfinished basement and plan on building some basic shelving to hold a PVM or 2, right now I have a hefty 27" Panasonic flat CRT I was using for games but it has a few issues because I dropped it years ago while moving lol. So I'm thinking dual 20's or 25's and if the 25" is only 120 pounds I can deal with that. What kind of price should I expect to pay for both?

Price wise is going to depend on if you are willing to pay shipping. I would personally scout Craigslist and other local sources (including nearby eBay posting that allow pickup) first before considering shipping one. My first PVM was destroyed in shipping. And that was the smaller 13/14 inch model. These things are crazy heavy and a lot of sellers have no idea how to correctly pack a CRT set for shipping. I ended up driving about 5/6 hours roundtrip to get my 20 inch as I wasn't willing to risk it getting damaged.
Unless you get a crazy deal, expect to pay $50 to $100 for a 20 inch model and the PVM 2530's go for $100+. Many of those are sold as local pick up only for obvious reasons.
Another thing to keep in mind when buying one of these is how old it is. Any of the xx30 series (2030/2530) are going to be from the 80's. Some of these may have burn in or geometry issues. Unless you can get a good deal on it, I would select a newer late 90's or early 2000's model.
If the budget isn't too big an issue, you can get a NEW 20 inch 20M2U from eBay for $150 plus shipping.

PLUS this model has 2 sets of RGB inputs. Very nice feature that not many of them have.

but then I remembered that my NES is hooked up to a small PVM on my desk:

I had the small one first. Got it free a while back from work. The BVM I picked up maybe a year ago on Craigslist from a video editing place over in SF.
My friend hounded me forever to make the switch over to RGB, but I just wasn't interested. Then I got the little PVM so I bought some cables. Whoever said it earlier in the thread was spot-on. Once you make the move over to RGB, you can't go back.

I was sad I couldn't complete my local deal for one, but the guy flat out refused to take less then 100$. I showed him a few examples of Ebay prices, told him that 100$ was insane for a 14" (13" viewable) PVM... Still he refused, so I did the only respectable thing and walked away. Got my eye out, maybe something will turn up.

You did the right thing. You can sometimes find deal from the local Craigslist. It's best to just wait for a cheaper deal.

Looks like you can get pretty decent 20" PVMs off ebay for about $150 shipped. Not amazing, but not terrible (half of that cost is shipping).
There is a local guy here who has a PVM but he's not responding to emails.
I had my CMVS hooked up to a nice PVM in college, I forgot how awesome they look.

A neighbor of mine is in TV production and had TWO 20 inch Mitsubishi PVMs in his basement that he's looking to get rid of.. Price hasn't been discussed, but I may get a good deal for them

Friend of mine dropped off another Sony PVM for me. Takes the total to 4! Got a second 20 incher. Came with a 4 input SCART selector, SCART to RCA cable and a handfull of BNC to RCA adapters for 100 bucks.

I have a Sony KV-25XBR. Not really a PVM, a higher end Sony CRT from the 80s. It has some battle damage (case is warped due to me leaving it in my car during a day of a typical Texan summer) and used to belong to NASA in Houston and has a stamp on it to prove it.
No overview pics and there won't be any til I make a new RGB cable for it (my hackjob SCART adapter broke during my recent move and I don't care to fix it when a proper cable will be made soon anyway) and formally set it up here at the new place, but here's some SNES Gradius III phosphors for y'all:
Damn "plant boss"... stage is fine but I can't ever get through him on my first life.
