zombies are so versatile. You can use them in so many games.

I like that color of flesh too. I like to paint mine that pale green, and I dry brush with a flesh tone. And i dab a few areas of red wash for active decay.

^Ty, I did it with a base coat of 50/50 mix of Bleached bone and Vallejo light flesh and a few washes (green and red) and then drybrushing with the base colour.

I've never played Blood Bowl. The specialist games never really caught on around here.

I thought it looked interesting seeing it in the magazines and such. There just isn't enough interest in that kind of stuff in the local gaming to be able to get something like that going.

Glad to see the painted figure. I'll look forward to seeing the team as it progresses.

I like the idea of blood bowl much more than the game. We put it on the table last year .I definitely enjoy the game. It's just a 2-3 hour slog instead of a quick match up. There's also so many dice rolls for every...little...thing.
Then you add in special powers and star players, and it just grinds to a halt. Blitz bowl is faster, but not that great.

Guild Ball is cleaning up right now. They did it right with small teams and not a giant set of rules.... to start.

I do have blood bowl team manager(boardgame), which is surprisingly good.

Back at the painting table with all this distancing. This is about as messy as it gets for me. I've been using a lot more glazing techniques over some zenith highlighting.

^I thought of the same, time to tackle some bigger project; I've had Egrimm van Horstmann and the Dragon both undercoated and ready to go for a few years now.

those look much more creepy than the modern sculpts. all the contortion doesn't look natural and feels uneasy, while the new ones look like red angry baboons.

^Yeah, they're a lot more demonic, plus being lead-based you can bend them even more pre-painting.

Just scored a complete ‘95 Warhammer Quest, Lair of the Orc Lord expansion and Pit Fighter supplementary mini, all unpainted. I used to have the game but lost it in a flood years ago. Looking forward to getting my kids into it, especially the painting.

^A friend of mine introduced his sons to Blood Bowl, and they took to it like fish to water.

That’s awesome. I’ve got Hero Quest stashed away too so I’m going to start with that, then move on to WHQ.

I’ve never played Blood Bowl, looks interesting. Your minis look great!

I like blood bowl in concept more than playing. It's super random, and has too many fiddly rules. I still want to paint up a team, but it really helps to have someone know the rules inside and out. It plays so much faster when you don't have to look up every random ball bounce and drop.

40k 9th edition was just announced. Not that it matters for the game as I haven't played in 20+ years, but the Lore has been getting better every year. Necron Silent king is gonna shake things up, and it might mean more xeno fluff overall.

I love bumps in this thread. those sculpts have to be 20+ years old. I still do some painting in spurts. I'm currently doing some light work on WHQ: Cursed City.

Nice! I missed out on cursed city. Doubt I'll get another chance from the sounds of it. How are you liking it? I love Blackstone Fortress.

I'm glad to see an update. It's always cool to see painted minis.
