I've been really into ROTK and Nobunaga's Ambition as of late.

Slowly working my way through a single campaign of ROTK X, but I'm really enjoying it.

Still playing ROTK DS remakes (ROTK 3 and 4 remakes)

I used to be a ROTK junkie and spent night after night on PC versions.

Genghis Khan for NES, one of the best if not the best Koei strategy game out there.

If you were to pick up any of the ROTK games, I'd say either VIII or X.

Not too sure about the NA games...haven't played them enough to know.

And don't buy Kessen, please.

I played Kessen once, unfortunately.

What a waste that was.

The only KOEI strategy game I ever played was Kessen on the PS2.

It was a launch title, and it seemed more interesting than Fantavision. I played it all the way through, and even got good enough at it to kinda enjoy it. Looking back on it though, it really doesn't stand up to the test of time.

The only really good parts about it were the music and the "What if?" alternate history scenarios.

The only Koei Games I own are Opoona on Wii, Dynasty Warriors 3 +4 for PS2, + Guitaroo Man for PS2.

I guess I'm not a tactical genius like Wizzy.

Kessen 1 was a bit of a blah to say the least. Kessen 2 was amazing, Kessen 3.... not nearly as stellar and quite repetitive.

You want a great Koei RPG with strategy elements. Inindo, awesome game.

Gemfire is a great game.

Rise of the phoenix is awesome.

Nobunaga's ambition rise of darkness for the snes (not the first one but the 2nd release is amazing)

Ghenghis khan clan of the grey wolf for the snes/gen is probably one of the hardest they ever created.

All the incarnations on the ps2 offer a dif spin on the whole experience, they are in no way the same game over and over.

Dynasty tactics 2 is better then the first but are both great.

Never liked PTO although I own them.

Bandit kings of ancient china is one of their first releases, not a bad game but there are better alternatives.

One of the best Turn based war strats I ever played was Shingen the ruler on the nes. Made by Hot B, and it offers a dif take on the game. This time you govern the Takeda clan, and not the usual Oda Nobunaga or Ghenghis khan clans. And on top of it, its completely dif from the Koei offerings.
