Back in the 90's I always wanted to work in SNK painting their stuff, that's the reason I started to draw, videogames was my inspiration to start on this thing, unfortunly I never get it :P but I started a new project, :D I will redo, all my AES insterts, started with agressors of dark kombat i played it a lot on arcades in the old days, thais is what i got so far, hope you like it, still is work in progress.

Looks promising so far--I'm particularly digging Fuuma. You've got kinda the Shinkiro thing going on with a bit of your own vibe too.

I like it. It actually looks superior to the original box art - it's cleaner, and has a very SNK feel to it. Great work!

Gotta say that Aggressors of Dark Kombat is a pretty shitty game though. :lolz:

I always wished you would consider doing this but you were busy enough that I was happy to get the occasional title logos. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I thought about that once actually, but I doubt there is market for that, I mean, I actually would like to do it but I don't know if people would buy them. Although it would great.

Why not test the waters with a small number of inserts? Can´t believe that there is no demand...
You could just offer some of them in the market section and see what happens.
Or maybe just show the drawings and start some kind of preorder in case you want to avoid any financial risks.

You definitely got talent - looks indeed very much like the old SNK to me, which is a compliment of course.

Thats looking great man! Do you generally paint in greyscale and then add color over it using layer styles and overlays? I think its a good way to find good values that read well, after all if it does not read in greyscale then it wont read in color. The only thing I dont like about painting like this though is the lack of color control when using layer styles.... As Im sure you know, adding layer styles changes the original color's property when it is applied. Just takes some back and forth fine tuning to get it where it is intended but that to me is a very technical thing to do and kind of takes away from the creative flow of painting.

This looks excellent though man, you have some real nice flesh tones coming through on that Fuuma detail.

Woah. Fan art like this makes up for all the fucked-up, no talent shit you see on sites like Deviant Art.

Cheers.

Thanks man! glad it liked you, yes it has some issues to paint this way but as you said is better to read all the values first :) im used to do heavy color correction work since i work doing compositing and integration, yeah after doing the color overlay i use a lot of curves and color balance and paintover, but in ate the same time i like to do this because i can change many things once i see the overall work :)

Thanks for comment!

This being one of my favorite games on the Neo, and the fact that it looks so cool, makes me want to get a high quality movie-sized poster of that artwork to frame and hang in my studio. That's really awesome stuff.
