I used to only use cash so THEY couldn't cum all over an Excel sheet of my spending analytics. I gave up and only use credit cards now (mostly using my phone). I can track my spending way easier and don't have to go to the ATM every few weeks. Let 'em watch.

A carport is essentially a freestanding structure with a roof (no walls) often unattached from your house, that you park you car under.
Sometimes it’s not freestanding and is attached to the side of your house. This is a pretty common configuration with single wide/double wide trailers or pre-manufactured homes.
Basically it’s a “garage” for poor people or a place to keep your car dry if you live somewhere the weather is pretty comfortable most of the time.
I have an asphalt driveway that essentially runs the length of my property and at the end is a carport my grandfather probably built in the 50s. I keep my power tools and stuff out there.

As a fellow Californian, I have to say it sounds insane to keep stuff outside. Even my garage at my last place there with actual walls, doors that lock, etc., got broken into a couple times.
Anyway, about USAID, it's definitely both. It's a form of soft power, it does increase our standing abroad as Bernie points out, and it does some level of good for at least some people who need it. But it's also unquestionably been used as a CIA front for some nefarious shit. What the ratio is, I don't know, probably not great. The problem isn't USAID as much as the precedent it sets, which will make it easier for them to get rid of things americans actually need down the road.

Firstly, foreign aid in the form of USAID is less than 1% of the budget, and secondly that money is going to be taken from our poor people regardless. Giving it to the 1% in our country doesn't make it better.
But yeah, let's help China keep making inroads everywhere. What could go wrong with that?

I think it's pretty cool that people can do that, though. It can be annoying but it is still really cool that Americans can do what they do. Doing something substantial is what most of the rest of the world used to do/still does - get a band of people to unite and use violence to attain authority.
That said I'm dipping out of Trump news for the next four years aside from what I see here. Whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen. No use in cutting a few years off my life due to stress about shit I can't control.
