I have his phone number already kit...he gave it to me at the beging of the transaction...which makes the whole thing even odder. I'm honestly not gonna even attempt calling him as its just as easy to avoid a phone call as it is a text, and he has been doing a good job of that so far. Even if the board shows up, at this point it has already been the WORST transaction I have had on here.

My bad dudes... I confused myself. Not trying to sully anyone's reputation here... just hoping my man gets taken care of and gets his stuff. Soon.

Thanks for clearing that up... and sorry Aluisi, no harm intended. My bad.

Fuck it DZ... Give him a ring, $200 is no small amount to write off.

(e) Can you start a claim with a gift payment... No ?
As much as I use PP it's still witchcraft to me.

I kicked off @ guy the other week on a none reply (email & phone) for a pending deal...

Poor fella had a funeral to deal with :oh_no:

Which other sites & where, what other usernames & any recent activity there DZ ?

Nah, you cant do a claim. If you could I would have just let paypal handle it. I know he is active on srk and i think klov as well. Should i post up this thread over there?

Alright so no call....big surprise.

I posted a similar topic to this up on SRK, which the seller also frequents, so maybe something will come from that.

Is it too early to bump this up to a scam? Im pretty new to this whole scamming shit, so I dunno if there is some kind of timeframe for it.

Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread will helpful info and support. Glad we have a tight community that watches eachothers backs.

If he's just missing in action, you can't consider it a scam yet. If he's online, posting and working out deals without addressing your concerns there's a strong possibility he is scamming.

I refuse to believe he would jeopardize his rep for 200 USD though. My thinking is he'll have a good excuse for his absence and make amends in due time. It's just really foolish for him to cut-off communication. A good excuse or even a lousy one for that matter is better than the disappearing act.

Hang in there man, you'll get your stuff.

I wouldnt even mind if he said it would be a month to mail it, just as long as he communicated. Even if this deal goes through, his rep is already tarnished. What a dumb move over pretty much nothing.

Still nothing. Seems this guy fell off the face of the earth.

Thanks for trying to email him SK. I'll attempt to see if I can find some others who have done business with him, maybe one of them will be able to contact him.

Well,

I had a buddy of mine from these boards attempt to call him from cali, and he was told that alok was in the bathroom, and to leave a message and he would get back to him. My friend left a message saying he was calling on my behalf, and the call was not returned. So, I think I'm about ready to move this too a scam, as this guy clearly knows that I am trying to get ahold of him and is not responding.

Any chance a mod can check this guys ip to make sure that he isnt using another screen name on here? Im not gonna get my money back, but I dont want anyone else to get screwed by this guy.

As much as I appreciate it Volt, I dont know this guys address. Also, I dont want to give out this guys info just cause I know what some people on these boards would do with it. I just want to make sure that no one else gets scammed. When I hear back from someone on the IP check and am comfortable with this being labeled as a scam, I will forward this guys name and phone number to Phillip so that he can add it to his archive of scammers or whatever he sees fit to do with it.

You're probably being too kind.

He's obviously based in California, just from looking at his IPs.

I looked for shared IPs (and he had several dozen) and there were two other usernames --to be clear I've included the overlapping IP addresses:

  • 166.205.130.241 : 166-205-130-241.mobile.mymmode.com
shared with The Z-Man. This IP appears to be a service through Cingular Wireless, so take it as you will.

  • 69.228.246.110 : adsl-69-228-246-110.dsl.pltn13.pacbell.net
  • 64.56.194.22 : mxgw.glu.com
These two were shared by totoroslayer.

I am more suspicious of totoroslayer, because they both identify themselves with Northern California, the joined within months of each other and their last activities and posts were close to each other.

At this point, I would suggest posting all information you have on him and making it public. That way he'll start finding out that Google hits can find your name on this forum.

I'd post his phone number. Sounds like he has people living with them, maybe we should let them know there are people who are interested in their cohabitant's business transactions.

You're being way too nice to a guy who very well appears to have scammed you. LOL, you act as though we're 4chan. But even if this was, he brought it on himself.

DZ,

No offense, but I think you need to post his info. If you don't, I think you have no right to complain anymore. This forum has a rule that the scammer loses his privacy rights, which everybody on this forum is aware of. So you are not doing anything wrong by posting his info.

2.4.2. Any user who commits a scam on this website forfeits all privacy rights to their name, address and any other discoverable personal information until the situation has been acceptably rectified. Any such information can be posted on the forums, resulting in public availability on web search engines (e.g. Google).

Either post his info (or send it to someone else to post for you), or accept the fact that you have been scammed and don't bring it up anymore.

Alright..

Name:Johnny Trenh
Address: 1568 ambergrove drive, san jose ca 95131
Phone Number: 408 307 2900
Email address: keiichi331@yahoo.com

Thanks for looking into it Bobak! Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it. In my 10 plus years of buying/selling shit online, I have never been ripped off before, so I am new to this whole process. I was attempting to go through all of the proper channels that I have seen other go through when they were scammed, as have been working under the advisment of both BB and Kit the whole time.

Bibs- Sorry if somehow my reluctancey to share someone info until it was confirmed via a mod offended you in some way. If you read the thread I was just following what everyone was telling me to do. If it makes you sleep any easier, I am plenty pissed about this situation, I'm just trying to handle this as an adult, as I find that usually works out better in life.

Anyway, the thread title has been updated to reflect the situation.

Thanks again to those who have helped out

No offense taken whatsoever. No need to apologize. Just trying to help out. The rule is there to let scammers know the risk they take when they scam someone. It just doesn't make sense for someone to complain that someone scammed him, and then to protect the scammer. Not saying you were doing that; I was just making the point so you wouldn't in effect be doing that. Hope you get this resolved.

Left him a voicemail.

Basically told him if he is having problems, to come here or respond to DZ about it.

If he is scamming, I'm gonna give him a few days to make this right.

I'll follow up on Thursday.

Does this dude work for a taxi place, or own a taxi?

http://www.yellowpages.com/info-171...xis/neighborhood-Berryessa?search_terms=Taxis

It looks like this address is listed as a taxi cab merchant.

Freaking lame what people will try to do for $200. There is no reason to be out of contact when holding people's money unless you're:

1) Dead
2) In coma or other hospital condition where you can't go online
3) Kidnapped or squirreled away to Mexico like Michael Douglas in The Game

If you don't owe people anything, whatever, your choice to be away from the drama. But if you have people's money...

Sincerely,

Mikhail
