The only downside to snaplocks is they crack rather easily, don't store them anywhere near hardwood or concrete. I just had this happen to one of mine...

I'd go with the soft case for overall consideration. They're not as luxurious as snaplocks but they can take a beating and look pretty nice. They also smell awesome.

Can't beat that smell! When i'm feeling down I open my new SS2 and snort up that vinyl case then for seconds I have a line of the PCB's, still smells like fresh solder even after 20 years.

Snaplock for durability....However i have to go with old style vinyl just because the cracked treys dont bother me so much an i like the texture , smell an look.
