JHendrix:
I think that now adays it's quite clear/common: Poison is a chick, not a guy.
That is all.
um yeah i think it is "clear" that she's not a guy, only because she's an effective transexual. about a year ago or so i got real into reading up on street fighter canon and since Third Strike is my favourite SF game i spent alot of time finding out about it's characters (who have almost no bio). ofcourse hugo has some bio from final fight... and part of it was that poison was intended to be a transexual.
some of the things that capcom (of japan... let's not speak of CofA) of japan who created poison say, and things that are postulated/conjectured and reported at The Street Fighter Plot Canon Guide:
men imitated women's voices for poison's voice, rather than have women do the voice acting. so it's a "dude trying to sound like a chick", which is something i'm sure transvestites & transsexuals try to do.
Poison is hugo's manager (managing his pro wresteling career).
"Poison and Andore Jr. are officially good friends. This is why Andore Jr. is the most likely Andore to be Hugo Andore of Street Fighter 3. " from http://www.orochi.com/sffaq/
"Poison and Hugo fight and bicker a lot, but they still get along really well. I don't know if Hugo realizes that Poison is a guy, but I don't think he'd really care either way since they're just good friends and Hugo doesn't seem like the type that would look for a love interest. " from http://www.orochi.com/sffaq/
"Poison is a "new-half", meaning a person who got a sex change. Poison is a GUY. A guy with breasts, but a guy. This is official. This has been official EVER SINCE FINAL FIGHT ONE EXISTED. However, most USA players wouldn't know this at all, due to lack of storyline publications in the US and the fact that Poison didn't even EXIST in Final Fight One for the USA version. Capcom of USA thought that Poison was a girl (they STILL didn't know she was a guy by Final Fight Revenge, for crying out loud), so when Final Fight 1 came to the US, they changed Poison and 'her' pallet swap, Roxy, into generic male punks, Billy and Sid, because censorship was high back then and they feared people wouldn't like the idea of hitting girls." from http://www.orochi.com/sffaq/
"If you think Poison can't be a guy just because 'she' looks so 'woman', no offense, but you really need to study up on Japanese Anime culture some more..." from http://www.orochi.com/sffaq/
yeah, but etc. etc.

there's more. i suggest you dudes & doubters check out the SFPCG if you're into that kind of thing (and you should be). so yeah poison's a guy... but i mean, i know i'm comfortable to say that he's a hell of a good looking faker (the arts they put out of poison don't make it a priority to make him dude-ish, rather they are quite attractive representations.).
whether or not you wanna discount this or not feel free, but CofJ has put out some official statements so... you're wrong (i'm not speaking to anyone in paticular) if you say he is a she.
he is a half-she,
