One thought though, James. With the form to enter games, it would be nice to have a drop down for the list of games! Without it you are going to have a nightmare dealing with typos.

I'm sure everybody will type carefully. On another note, does anybody know where I can pick up a copy of Salubi Spirits?

I have just noticed that on Voltage Fighter there is a No. 000006 listed.

I started to go through lots of games but is there we can find out what games of certain numbers exist, also what is the lowest number listed in the database at the moment.

In addition to this, just looking at Super Sidekicks 4 and I notice that alot of people are not inserting the full 6 character serial number. This is happening on alot of games and means that the list does not sort correctly. Can we try and keep this as consistent as possible as it will just look shit in a few months time.

James any thoughts on a way we could script this so it doesn't happen anymore.

Sorry for popping in so late.

First, I'll say that the wait was entirely my fault. James shot this idea to me 2+ years ago, I wrote up a front-end, and then got busy with other projects that I didn't really make it back to this one. The past two weeks or so James has been testing things out with data and trying to break everything while I've been coding non-stop. I'm really excited we have it live and running and we never lost the domain in the mean time :) . The feedback so far has been really nice and the amount of submissions for the first night awesome. I know the about page is cranky, but that's mostly just to try and fend off some of the trolling. So far all the feedback here was been greatly productive and spot on. Most of it has been already under way.

Being a Python guy, I'll also mention that I realize some of the user interface aspect of the site might not be optimal. This is always being tweaked and tested with on a sandbox copy we have. I'm pretty in dark when it comes to web UI and the like.

There are several things being worked on now that will address most, if not all, of the suggestions made so far. Mainly, I wanted to get the code up and running in a live situation to test the waters a bit more, but I am still coding.

Game select list, serial checks, etc in the submission form are coming. I am working on a separate submission system for these things and it will hopefully be up in the next few weeks. As for serials getting cut, I will check the database to see, but it shouldn't be truncating things on the code end (meaning these were submitted like that and we'll just catch those on the new submission setup).

As for how it works, I tried to lay most of that out in the about section, but if anyone is curious for further juicy details, just shoot me an email. The code will most likely be available via GIT starting with the next release if anyone would be interested in the source. For now, I've left all the JS in the index file itself.

Big things are definitely on the idea list and should be getting implemented over the next few months. As the data comes in, we can roll with it and adjust features as we seen fit. If we end up with enough data, we can start to implement some data mining stuff and I have a few neat things in mind for that. And of course, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Glad you guys dig it so far and I hope people find it useful (and fun).
Again, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact James or I here or through the site (there is a contact form there as well).

Lastly, I made a banner (below) if anyone wants to throw up on their website or the like, the more people we can get using the site, the more useful it becomes.

Are you guys gonna implement a way to select multiple games at once, so I only have to type the serial for my "X-in-1" multi-cart once, without having to enter it for every game that's on the cart?

Up to James. I'll code what he wants. Ha.

But yeah, be sure to throw in any submission comments, the updated submission process is top priority right now. I am also coding out a few test examples for submitting many carts at once.

I'm pretty sure my only cart with a serial has been no where since i got it from an arcade. :/ oh well. This is still really cool.

does it make a difference which serial number? Mine didn't have it on the front so i put the one in on the foil sticker on th side.

I had some SNK serials (with the warning do not remove sticker) on the side... it was a lower count serial number..

I figure tracking is tracking... if there is a serial number on your cart, use it... although I have one cart that had a 4 digit serial number on a sticker from a distributer.. I didn't enter that one.

You don't want Salubi Spirits, it's the Korean release of Sam Sho 2 and I think it's missing sound samples and some voices.

Hahahaha I thought it was some kind of freak typo! That's what I get for trying to be funny.

If anyone has serials for games they sold please submit them. The more past transactions the better.

neat idea :)

Some of my carts are already there. If I ever have a chance, I will upload some cart numbers as I keep track of most of the carts I own/sell.

You might want to add Super Volley Ball'94 to this list if it ever got an official release under this name.
I don't think that my copy has any serial number however...

I think Professor X said it only shows in the list when somebody has one to enter.

Also, I love that nobody took this post seriously. :D

I can't get this thing to work in IE7/IE8. Just says "LOADING ME UP". And nothing is clickable or does anything on the page.

I'm lazy. I don't want to try this at home.

Tossed mine up. If that JP MS4 is wrong my apologies. I'm pretty sure it's a legit label, but it's my only JP cart, so I wasn't sure.

EDIT: Now all the one's in my 4 slot are up too!

In coding terms, IE is like a seasoned pornstar, hard to please.

LOL

If anyone has a shitload of carts and feels lazy to enter them in, just snap some good pics and I'll enter them myself.
