Like I've said many times, I do use emu's, but mainly for taking screenshots etc for my site these days. I've been a Neo fan since the early nineties and always wanted a Neo Geo but could never afford it... but eventually I bought myself an MVS, and for some reason I find it WAY more fun than playing the games through an emulator.
It's hard to put your finger on, but to me the real thing just seems more fun, and to be quite honest, the MVS carts I have right now hold more interest for me than the Metal Slug 3 roms sitting on my HD. Besides, I'd rather not play the game fully until I get the cart (I will at some point), so then I can appreciate it fully on a big screen TV with proper Neo sticks. Ok, I could get a gfx card for my PC with a TV out, and also a hotrod arcade stick etc etc, but is it really worth all that hassle?
As far as savestates and the like go, I don't really care for them much and would rather play the games normally instead... although online play can be very cool (I use that occasionally).
