Pat is a hypocrite, complains about resellers yet has shit like this. If you want further proof he is a hypocrite, he always bitches about yahoo articles or news articles in general hyping up game prices, yet does the same shit here. Best of all, he appeared on Pawn stars and tried to sell his Nintendo World Gold Championship, which did way more than any shitty yahoo article could ever dream to do.

Yeah in CUPodcast he has many times dissed Storage wars about being fake and wrong values on NES games but he went to Pawn stars invited to show those NWC carts.

http://ebay.to/29kB6sp $450 for a US AES set

http://ebay.to/29rgdeI -65 for joystick
http://ebay.to/29qS71p -27 for memory card
http://bit.ly/29qS2ed -25 for PSU
http://ebay.to/29kOPLr -9 for AV cable
http://ebay.to/29Brxn7 -33 for FF2 cart only

Comes out to about $291.

That isn't a sold one johnny, and even so its in much better shape then Pat's. Pat was estimating this at $300+ not $300~. All the ones i've seen are in way better shape cosmetically for collectards that have sold for over that (and usually have everything including sticks, most of the time 2), and buy it nows at that. Very hard to see which ones are US unless you look for a non 5v power supply or title name. Whatever system you have is a moot point with unibios nowadays. This isn't just me calling out Pat, many people in the comments as well. I think its worth more than the $100 the jabrony in the comments quoted but $300 for loose nothing at all big ass scratched console? But hey what do I know, people are buying SSVS boots for 500+.

Pat clearly overhypes a ton of his buys on Flea Market madness.

Makes me wonder if he does it to justify losing his weekends for the past 10 years.

The amount of money he saves is trivial. If you took a half-shift at a minimum wage place on Saturday and Sunday you'd probably be ahead at this point, or at least have been able to control what you buy, as opposed to relying on getting lucky.

Ha, I listen to the CU Podcast all the time. I figured that Pat would receive the ire of the NEO GEO forums with his 300 pricing. I understand the frustration with all these Youtubers, but honestly I've been exposed to some
excellent games that I might have missed over the years. Granted, once that game is exposed on a huge Youtube channel the game typically becomes unaffordable. Still a nice resource at times.

I played the majority of the SNES library well before I was even in highschool because of emulators. Including stuff that didn't get released stateside like Seiken Densetsu 3 and Terranigma.

Then since wikipedia exists and you can look up almost entirely complete console libraries nothing has ever been "hidden". I think that's why the metal jesus is such a joke.

Guys on youtube usually just provide exposure to games that your average joe casual and kids who werent born yet probably never heard of.

Yeah, I am kind of sick of these dudes who came in about 20 years late to the party and then try to act like they knew shit all about the console from the beginning. The guy in that video with him was a total homo. OMG a real special treat, wow such a treasure. BIG BUCKS MEGA RARE this video probably isn't going to help the prices. No shit sherlock.

Video games are an interesting art form in that there's a huge overlap between what's good and what's popular. I think it comes down to the fact that it's simply technically difficult to make a good game. It usually takes multiple people talented in multiple disciplines to produce anything worth a shit. It doesn't happen by accident very often, and so that's why everyone pretty much knows about most good games. And no, don't bring up cell phone "games," because they're not video games in the sense that matters. Most unknown games are unknown for a reason (they blew ever-loving dong), and most good games get their due credit. You don't need some cripples on Youtube to tell you which Neo Geo games are good. It's pretty obvious.

I'm counting the seconds until DotCom Bubble 2.0™ bursts and these social media shills all flock to the next scam. If every social media "personality" out there trying to amass subscribers for money committed suicide, the world would be a better place.

My favorite quote being from Assembler, the administrator which pretty much sums up everything wrong with the retro scene.

I've come across US units, I had about 50 of them once, pretty much the entire US supply of them.
When it was decided to kill it off they were recalled and recycled, which is how I got them (90% of them new in box too)

People weren't interested in them at the time, even at only $90 a piece, new and boxed.
I sold only about 20 of them, the rest I still have. When prices peak I will sell them, buy a boat and retire.

I would love to play some F-zero X DD.

It is true though, I remember him trying to sell them on his forums but no one really cared, now I'm sure they would've sold like hot cakes.

This quote on the other hand is what gets me:
Also...I plan on doing a video for my Youtube channel on the device, just like I did the orange Halo Xbox... That should drum up some interest.

Assembler is an interesting site, I used to be a regular there, but it's largely people who can't code for shit that hoard dozens of dev units for consoles. I imagine it's even worse now with this whole retro boom.

When all these guys start buying tins of zelda mints from the goodwill and commenting that it has "most of the mints intact" then we'll talk.

I find it funny that almost everyone who has a wall of games behind them on youtube has the same improperly spaced shelfs.
