Because Kiori... because... well you see, it's the little things in life that keep us happy.kiori:
man I have seen allot of people play this game at my bros college and always wondered what the song meant and now that I do I'm confused. Why would they put a song about french fries when its a game about fighting?
This game is so goofy, and incorporates so many silly aspects of Japanese culture, that I think I might actually be able to get iku (my gf) to sit down and play it with me for more than fifteen minutes, just because it's so funny.Average Joe:
Playing Matrimelee makes me wish I was more knowledgeable in terms of Japanese culture, and actually understood the language.
I get the feeling I'm missing out on a lot.
SONIC BOOM!kiori:
why is it that all most all fire balls are the way to perform?
qcf+punch is there like only fire ball teacher in the gaming world?
ah. see i was confused, i thought you were a native japanese.tsukaesugi:
There are too many written characters I don't know and can't read. It's depressing! (Plus I don't really like seeing screenshots etc. before I buy a game and play it at home.)NeoGML:
what exactly do you mean?tsukaesugi:
(I usually don't read game magazines, the Japanese is too much for me).
I can read manga though. The illustrations help me guess the meaning of the parts I can't read.

This is 'Elite Yankii Saburou', my current favourite.
(Glad you like the illustrations. I'm trying to sneak more Japanese culture onto the boards.)
He has another attack where he charges with his shoulder, I never write the moves down because I just sort of remember them as I go, but I know its a half-circle motion with punch or kick.tsukaesugi:
Nope I was Canadian... been here so long though I might as well be Japanese...
Speaking of Japan, Japanese dogs don't say 'woof woof' or 'bark bark', they say 'wan wan'...

POCHI!

His super is a little bit harder to pull off so it was more difficult beating Sissy this time. You have to press, then hold A, then press and hold B, then press and hold C. Sounds easy, but it's difficult to pull off really quickly.
His movelist:
qcb + punch kuun kuun wan wan
(mid-jump) qcb + kick gauruu wan
qcf + punch waoon wa wan
DM:
press then hold A, press then hold B, press then hold C striker
SDM:
f,b,f,b,f,b,f,b,f (didn't even bother trying this one. I lack the manual dexterity. If someone else has managed to pull this off, please let me know how it turned out)
Combos:
jump + C, standing C, standing C for an automatic three hit combo
his standing A is a flurry of punches (a flurry I tell you) which results in an automatic 3 hits, but the range is really short. I had problems combo-ing this one off a kick, so I just stuck to the jumping C, C, C.

Fucking third party. I did hate ADK, I do hate NF (Sengoku 3 is crap)!tsukaesugi:
[...] The sprites are remarkably similar to ROTD. The new characters, and of course the ROTD characters, just scream 'designed by NOISE FACTORY'. [...]
The overall graphics are amazing and the cart is one of the largest meg counts ever. Does this register in your brain? Oh yeah, and a lot of people have said that it's fun AND better than ROTD. Why then did you choose to only focus on that one quote? It's not BAD character animation, just not as good as MOTW or something like that. The way they did this game, though, they clearly pushed the system as far as its been pushed by anyone, just in a different way.Mokum:

SNK was the only way to go.
I finally pulled it off last night. I was using my NGCD control pad, and I couldn't do it, so I dragged my joystick out of the closet, and used that instead. And his SDM with F,B,F,B etc... motion is actually really easy. All you have to do is wiggle the joystick back and forth like you're having a seizure. Plus if you keep wiggling the joystick you can even squeeze out an extra tornado instead of the normal one (works great if people try to roll under the first one).
Yup, just like a tail wagging.Like a tail wagging?
Arcadia 37 has a lyric sheet for "DEBU DEBU DEBU" in the Matrimelee section.
yes. lyrics are all transcibed in the cover book.tsukaesugi:
BTW, does the Matrimelee soundtrack have a lyric sheet?
Same here, I love this game to death but I know there's a whole lot more that I'm missing out on but at least this thread's showing me some of thatAverage Joe:

Are you playing the cart on a US/AES system? If so, I believe it's been cleared up that on a US system, much like blood----DERE AINT NONE.RyoGeo:
Ok, stupid question, but I need to ask for clarification.
Do ALL of the music tracks IN GAME have voice?
The reason I ask is that my copy of the game doesn't have any voice in the music. The only voice I hear is frm special moves and the "HA-IEEEE" that screams out at the character select screen.
Other than that, while fighting, there is no voice in the OST. So, it sounds as if I have a problem. Do I?
I have tried inserting the cart a bunch of times in order to "break in" the contacts, but still no difference. Can anyone offer some insight?
